The late Bob Schick of Honor Role was a huge BV fan. Visited England in the late 80’s and was chatting about Nick with a record shop clerk who said I think he lives in the neighborhood. Bob looked him up in the phone book and called him, they met for a drink and became close, life-long friends.

I used to be the buyer at Midnight Records when Jeremy was releasing a lot of 7" records on Diesel Only. He would bring in new 7" records along with restocks, and I would check them in. He was always so kind and would tell me to take a couple for myself out of the box he brought with him. I kept in touch with him for some time through Sundazed, who first released the Laura Cantrell album on vinyl, but it'd been a long time since I'd spoken to him, unfortunately. I'm really sad to hear about his passing. I'd always hoped to rekindle that conversation one day. He was a great guy!
