There was an all-in-one stereo behind the counter and a stack of CDs, one of which was Surfer Rosa — and another one was "They Spent Their Wild Youthful Days in the Glittering World of the Salons" by the Swirlies. Used to get stoned on the walk to work and just listen to music and make copies and ring people up and it was an okay job, $4.25 an hour wasn't too bad back then.

	5:37pm Matt en Queens: I’m no expert, but to me PJ is always just her own thing, not really comparable to anyone except for Patti Smith, without whom there would be no PJ. I think that PJ is as likely to put out something really edgy now as at any point.

Her last album, "I Inside the Old Year Dying" definitely has a lot of sharp edges to it, definitely my favorite of hers since "Let England Shake."

Used to get stoned on the walk to work and just listen to music and make copies and ring people up and it was an okay job, $4.25 an hour wasn't too bad back then.
