Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from May 3, 2024 Favoriting

Uncle Michael's avatar View Uncle Michael's profile Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

I just figured AI would be self-aware enough to realize it does not in fact have a brain.

Speaking of AI, I saw a demo this morning of a legal research AI tool that did a decent job of summarizing Mertens v. Hewitt Associates. It understood when an actuary might owe a fiduciary duty to retirement plan participants, and it did a decent job of describing what "appropriate equitable relief" means.

A couple weeks ago, Irwin(?) had a playlist image featuring the word PENIS in large font. During a meeting with a colleague here I inadvertently displayed the playlist. Bug-eyes, followed by, "What?!!!" I had to apologize and explain. To date, no Title IX action.

It was a chill interaction, but we've had enough Title IX type abuse over the years. I don't want to invite more.

Related, during phone calls with my mom as her dementia got more severe, she would sometimes spout obscenities or introduce TMI, all in jest. My response was, "Wait, mom, let me take you off the speaker phone." She thought that was hilarious.

Stubbs the Zombie was a silly video game where you play as a zombie and try to infect as many people as possible. It was fun, but mostly notable for its weirdly stacked soundtrack full of mid-00s alt and indie bands covering mid-century pop songs.
