I was at a show by the Roches at Toad's Place during the "Speak" era, when a very big and tough looking guy (it was hard to believe he was at the right concert) strode up to an empty seat right next to the stage and sat down in it. In the next chair was a very timid dude who spoke up and said, "Sorry, sir, that seat's taken."To which the tough guy responded nastily, "Oh yeah, by who?" And the milquetoast, bless his heart, looks up and says, "Someone very special."

" "I'm Putting All My Eggs in One Basket" is a popular song written by Irving Berlin for the 1936 film Follow the Fleet, where it was introduced by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Astaire had a huge hit with the song in 1936 and other popular versions that year were by Jan Garber (vocal by Fritz Heilbron) and by Guy Lombardo (vocal by Carmen Lombardo)."

Let's all remember Jaimie Branch, whom we lost in 2022 at only 39. I'm really sad and angry about all the music we won't get to hear from her.
But if you haven't already been listening to it obsessively, make sure you check out her posthumous last album, which her friends and collaborators made sure came out, as well as the other "Fly or Die" albums.
