I saw Rossington-Collins band once. When they played Freebird they did it instrumental with a spotlight on the unattended microphone. Maudlin, but also ignoring the other dead people.

Jack Kirby did some romance comics too. I love those. They are sometimes creepy, always silly. Intense. For awhile romance comics sold more than super hero comics did.

He's great! I just looked up "oldest romance comics" and it says what you say. but based on the 1947 first issue of Young Romance. I think I have some that are older. Unless they are just the gothic horror style or murder kind and have romance in them. I don't have them with me or I'd dive in. I don't have more than a box full.

there is one I have where the husband is tiring of his wife. Who is totally nice and doesn't nag or anything. He finds an upgrade same hair same dress but younger. so he kills his wife and replaces her. they really milked the violence too. he drug her down the hall by her hair before he killed her for the young one. Pre code.

After WWII ended, superheroes were losing popularity. The publishers tried all kinds of genres - Westerns, Crime became especially popular, etc. Jack saw the possibilities before anyone els did. He revolutionized the industry more than once, after all.
