I steam the whole oats (groats) in a cooker over night and eat 'em every morning for my first meal of the day. Keeps me full for many hours and sets the blood sugar levels just right for the whole day. I could not recommend this more for those of us who are getting up there. . . .

Put a one cup combo of those in a slow cooker with 2 1/2 cups of water and let 'em go overnight. In the morning I add skim milk and a mashed banana. That's my first "fill up" every day . . .
