The first time I saw David in 1973 he was playing a brown bakelite Gibson lap steel. But what really knocked me sideways was his shirt. It was made out of a tablecloth with plates, knifes and forks printed all over it!

TDK60:

Yeah, when I saw Lindley, he had about 8 to 10 instruments surrounding him on the tiny stage in a cafe. About 20 years ago.

I discovered Ry Cooder through Walter Hills films. Thanks so much for reminding me what a beautiful artist Cooder is and what a great collaboration Hill and Cooder were. Beautiful show.

Hello Devon and All, I'm chiming in late, though I have listened to most of the show. Lindley played on some phenomenal scores. I appreciate you giving attention to the session people. The composers garner most of the accolades. However, the musicians really make the score come alive.
  8:54pm
Blissland:

I thought that looked funny. The sun in that photo is fake.
  8:56pm
Rick A:

The Long Riders soundtrack is one of my favorites. I had it on cassette and then found a CD version at the Housing Works bookstore. I still listen to it periodically. The Southern Comfort score is a great one, too, though maybe he didn't play on that one.
