Familiar & forgotten gems from 50-plus years of music on the darker side, shoegaze, synthpop, goth, psychedelia, darkwave, with unapologetic detours into 70s pop. In a dark night of the soul, it's always 3 o'clock in the morning.

I'm getting back into the boards, and listened to your recent shoegaze hour/special. Holy crap I missed a good fill-in earlier today! (I thought it was on another date). But definitely have always loved this show - you didn't drive anyone away! :)

In general, WFMU is *amazing* for friendly people and constructive conversations - occasionally some doofuses still land in the chat board but this is even harder to get to! A specialized "fan" stream.

But it's okay - Alan Vega was a brilliant high-brow conceptual musician who only "played" the low-brow!

With Suicide, Alan was apparently the first to call themselves "punks" in 1970. The first to be called "punk rock" by someone else was...? and the Mysterians, by a music journalist in 1966!

I heard those limited 2014 shows sold out quickly … did you have an insider helping out to secure the experience. ?
Ps : are there archives of your radio shows / post Kate return - that radiate with the glow of that experience ?

I attempt to collect Stina recordings as well. Love her.
Re Anja Garbarek (highly recommended) - I want to listen to more of her mid to latter music -(it usta be so darn hard to find) - no excuses anymore. Really the only thing I love abt the technical world … music & info access.
