It was magnetic and had a big ceramic "BARCELONA" holding the actual bottle opener. So when we would have beer-drinking afternoons, we got in the habit of saying "where's Barcelona?" when we needed the bottle opener, heh. Good times.

The next day, I came down with pneumonia, but I will never forget that spaghetti and ale as long as I live.

A few years ago I did a little set which was the whole track-list of "Whipped Cream & Other Delights" (which is where many of us first encountered "Bittersweet Samba") – except wherever possible as performed by someone other than HA/TJB (and in as many cases as practical, in an original or precursor version). Because when I heard that album as a kid, played by my parents, in most cases I had no clue that any of those songs weren't original to Herb Alpert! So when we would have beer-drinking afternoons, we got in the habit of saying "where's Barcelona?" when we needed the bottle opener, heh. Good times.

Because when I heard that album as a kid, played by my parents, in most cases I had no clue that any of those songs weren't original to Herb Alpert!
