A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

On way out dropped off a check in the mail for the garage that houses all my music equipment. Kind of makes me sick whenever I think that there’s very little choice in stamps. Looking at the big American flag on it screams American Exceptionalism brainwashing to me, and explained that to the kid, who was asking about it. Asking, because, I frequently talk to them about such things. A refrain, that they often repeat back to me when we’re talking about how flags inherently are about superiority and serve to divide people, is “One World, No Flags.”
Suffice to say any historic places we may visit will be explained through the lens of a couple of parents who dissent from and push back on all coordinated state propaganda.
Khyber Pass for lunch, Wooden Shoes at some point.

The last time on that stupid big flag one I wrote (when I had more time) underneath it:
No Fascism!
Another gross thing is the amount of flags on these highway overpasses. I mean, what other country is as pathetically nationalistic as this? I’ve traveled a bit and have never seen this kind of omnipresence anywhere else. It’s so deeply ingrained here that few even stop to notice.

We use hay bales and an old window as a makeshift greenhouse. Once the seeds sprout, we move them outside. My first batch of peppers resulted in one or two plants. I know where I screwed up.

I swear, on my trips to Italy, I’ve seen more “Pace” flags with the earth on them than Italian ones on people's homes.
