There's no way the "Wednesday" series could be as good as the "Adult Wednesday Addams" shorts available—in-between take-downs—via YouTube.

Singing my song there. I always want to like Burton's stuff more than I do.

Thank you for not playing the Kate Bush song, I heard it enough for the next five years just from watching the season.

Rev, I was shocked and dumbfounded at how much I enjoyed Rob Zombies’ The Munsters. It was colorful, zany, and wore its PG-ness on its sleeve in a way that reminded me of so many 1990s adaptations of 60s popculture. It might not have a foothold in today’s zeitgeist, but my headcanon voted it “best adaptation of 1996”.

Do you think I might like it, given that I could never stand more than a minute or so of the original series? I mean, I like the theme music, it's the first klezmer I ever heard….

Well, Melissa Hunter is brilliant.

It is Burton's, he directs every ep, I believe. It's fine, I guess. It kind of puts her in a boarding school and teen nonsense...

You remember after Ring, there were all those movies jumping the bandwagon that made up the bulk of what got earmarked 'j-horror'? And then The Ring was made, and all those other movies got US remakes? Smile is like one of the more middling examples of that.

I'd really like to see Goth win the Spirit, but a lot of those people voting will see Pearl alone, because that's the screener they'll be sent, and even though that's the better movie, they'll miss the full context. Blanchett will probably take it for Tar

A movie I really enjoyed this year that seems to have gotten lost is Dual. Black comedy pretty clearly inspired by Yorgos Lanthimos, great lead performance by Karen Gillan
