	10:26pm coelacanth∅: in some ways i'd be considered a "conservative" parent if i had children. like my own parents i'd be strict about some things and liberal about others...but not the same things! the relative freedom my siblings and i had was more the result of their irresponsibility than intention.
	👻 10:28pm Austin Rich: I understand what you mean, coelacanthø. When I was doing a lot of child care, I found myself a much more strict guardian than I thought I would be. I tried to be easy doing and have fun, but having rules and a rhythm to the day was actually better for everyone. And I said, "No," way more than I thought I would. It was... illuminating.
	10:33pm Aitch: Interestingly Netflix and such sound designers are making some great picks in their soundtracks. Can's Vitamin C for example in Euphoria. The kids hear the good stuff and then track it down. I've been amazed lately about some of the older stuff they are listening to, and then the surprise on their face when I tell them we have the CD/LP
	👻 10:37pm Austin Rich: I agree, Aitch. I'm often shocked at the songs people are putting in new TV shows, when I see new TV. Heather and I were watching some garbage TV for our podcast (The Circle) and they had a New Order song in the show. Sort of blew my mind. "In this shitty TV show? Huh."
	10:43pm Heather: My social media is blowing up about Wednesday dancing to Goo Goo Muck in the new Netflix show! I'm all for increased Cramps awareness but that is an interesting song choice....

	10:52pm Heather: Yesss Aitch!! They're so good! Timeless, too! The fashion in Wednesday is really good. Cool sets, too. It's been worth my time but moments have been.....tiring? Which, I'm assuming is deliberate and setting up something?

	👻 10:54pm Austin Rich: I've played a lot of shows with them, and I've shot a lot of video of them. We played a crazy show with Mark Hosler as part of a 24 Hour Music / Art performance, and part of that show involved Mini-Mutations, Forrest Friends, and Mark Hosler. I didn't do the math, and forgot that "24 Hours of Art And Music" all at one venue means drugs to some kids. We were playing at 2 AM and had a bunch of kids dancing to Forrest Friends like they were in the club!

Heavily influenced by Dr Demento, Don Joyce and old fashioned College Radio, Austin creates Audio Essays on a variety of subjects, and even just plays records, from time to time. Sometimes Live music and Interviews will grace the program, helping create a situation where you don't really know what you're going to hear, when you tune in. What you need to know is when you enter the Mid-Valley region, be prepared for the Musical Mutations... in whatever form they take.

I tried to be easy doing and have fun, but having rules and a rhythm to the day was actually better for everyone. And I said, "No," way more than I thought I would. It was... illuminating.

The kids hear the good stuff and then track it down. I've been amazed lately about some of the older stuff they are listening to, and then the surprise on their face when I tell them we have the CD/LP

We played a crazy show with Mark Hosler as part of a 24 Hour Music / Art performance, and part of that show involved Mini-Mutations, Forrest Friends, and Mark Hosler. I didn't do the math, and forgot that "24 Hours of Art And Music" all at one venue means drugs to some kids. We were playing at 2 AM and had a bunch of kids dancing to Forrest Friends like they were in the club!
