He said the band's name was derived from his two favorite bands: the Velvet Undergound and the Monkees.

Zipperhead i'd say i was not ornery. i was shy but liked to have fun. and i enjoyed disrupting the classroom and i was not afraid of much, so i'd do crazy things like throwing an apple at the principal from across the cafeteria -but just to be funny (and send a message) not to be mean.

I was hanging in Mexico City w/ a friend, and had time to kill, so, I decided to research and visit the address where William Burroughs shot Joan Vollmer. Found the address through some old papers online, and we went to the address. It is now just another modernist 3-story apartment building full of young urban professionals, not the old villa it once was....
