Andres:

Can’t help but wonder if that influenced Bowie’s vocal style somehow. Love Scott’s voice.
Avatar 4:35pm
Photocopy Cha Cha 2000:

@4:28 Julie: or maybe John Cale owes Bowie some, I think his solo career was not happening yet when Space Oddity came out. I think Cale has a new song out reminiscing the days he hung out with Bowie in Manhattan in early 70s.

@4:38 Julie: I started with Scott 3 and Scott 4. Then Scott 1 and Scott 2. 'Til The Band Comes In' has its moments but is uneven. Then 'Nite Flights' - it is a Walker Brothers album but basically the first four songs are Scott solo, and a taste of things to come. 'Climate Of Hunter' - a funny one, already avantgarde and yet very much of its time, very 1983-4 sounding. After that it becomes perhaps rather uneasy listening (from 1995's 'Tilt' onwards) but hey, you're the one who discovered PIL through 'Flowers of Romance' so I think a little avantgarde won't scare you off?

Laptop is back in fine form, Julie. It happens every now and then. It's an old laptop. Worst part is that the OS it works on is Windows 8.1, which unfortunately MS will be pulling out support for as of April 2023. I am confident, however, that this baby can handle Win10. My mom's laptop had Win8 when she bought it, like mine. I upgraded it to Win10, and it's still working fine.

I have an old laptop, and just this week, the middle portion of the keyboard either sticks, or runs really fast (a repeating character up to 20x w/ just a keystroke). Normally it would be just an annoyance, but, I'm taking these little programming aptitude tests to get into a free class. so, I have to do a hard reboot. and type a lot of 'a's, 's's, and 'l's, for about 15 minutes, and it then it will work fine. So, if I start typing en espanol more then usual, you'll know what's up (plenty of the aforementioned characters en espanol)
