Did Serge Gainsbourg ever contribute music to Godard films?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16pm

He did the music for that Anna movie, which was not Godard fms-mag.com...

Nice to hear more recent Morricone work. Not too shabby.

...the failures re this in Popular music (my impression) make these stand out by contrast...

It doesn't seem like there's that many. The Residents' Demons Dance Alone comes to mind, but I don't know how many people realize that's what it is (and that stretches the definition of 'popular music' to the breaking point)

I remember that day when the morning shows were interrupted by the network news programs after the first plane hit. Originally, I thought it was a piper plane that was supposed to arrive at Teterboro...until I noticed the size of the gaping gash on the side of the building. But it didn't fully register what was happening until the second plane hit.

An eerie footnote to my memory of that day: 11 days earlier, I was on my way to a show in NYC. I meant to take the PATH to W. 4th St. that evening. But instead, I ended up at the WTC, forgetting to transfer at Journal Square. Of course, I didn't think much about it at the time, other than wondering how I could have forgotten to make the transfer. So I decided to have a nosh at the Sbarro's there and just walked my way over to my destination. IIRC, I was on my way to a show at the Bowery Ballroom later that night.

I was down on SantaBarbara, CA - about as far as could be. I heard radio first ...& - a cinematic angle - I envisioned a sort of IrwinAllen disaster film. & I thot - that must be wrong - it couldn't really be like that. But - it absolutely was. & of course Duhbya was POTUS - & one knew war, vengeance & violence & tragedy could be the only response...

Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...to this day - the accounts of people actually in the area are stunning & revelatory...

great selections tonight Devon. the one thing that hasn't left my memory while basically watching news tv the week of 9/11 was the beacons beeping from the firemen as they walked through the rubble
