I made my own “Smiling on a cloudy day” bumper sticker for a cross country trip in ‘96. Somewhere in Indiana or Iowa, some maniac cut me off. I was pissed. Then I see movement in the back window. Someone, on a couple of paper towels, with sharpie, wrote “the heat come by and busted me for…”
Was that you PaulRobeson?

I saw the serialised version in a college library. The psychedelic doctor/guru who wouldn't talk to him (and who Thompson thought could not comprehend his hunting just to survive) whose name is elided in the book was printed in the original: it was Dr Robert de Ropp, author of "Drugs and the Mind" and "The Master Game" among others.

Lou Reed's careful habits with business papers (and receipts) was likely done in emulation of Andy Warhol, Reed always being in awe of A.W.'s work-ethic and business savvy.
Warhol was also a pack-rat, though evidently a meticulous one, carefully labelling his boxes and boxes of stuff.

So fun, bouncy and different than the finished version, like you said Don. Amazing! Such energy. That they decided to make it into something almost if not dark, almost claustrophobic psychedelic is interesting.
Love this version of I Dig Love!

Well, it's freaking 4:17pm over here! Kind of embarrassing especially when a distinguished guest visits the show.
HyperDose:
1.) Which Juniper song(s) did you play guitar on?
2.) What is your "primary artist" credit with Gin Blossoms for?
3.) What was working with Andrew W.K. like and what can you say about his artistic process/work ethic in the studio?
Loved your production (along with Kim Gordon) on Hole's "Teenage Whore" which was featured on the soundtrack for the criminally underrated 1994 cult film S.F.W. starring Stephen Dorff, Reese Witherspoon, and that other Busey brother.
Thank you for your time and to Ken for facilitating!

Your commitment to this, Don, for me has been one the most uplifting things lately, in such a rather dark era of history.
It’s really hopeful knowing that so much of the minutiae of great figures from George Harrison to Tuli Kupferberg, from Loud Reed to HST - rebels like Brendan Behan! - are being preserved lovingly for posterity.
So wonderful all the way around! You’re living an amazing life, my man!
