Recent Frank encounters:
- A couple days ago Summer Wind came on the radio but then I sez, "Same arrangement, but a horn sounds not quite right in there...is this the familiar recording"...and then the elder Frank voice started singing, "Uh-oh, is it duet zone?" And then Julio Iglesias started a verse and BAM I hit that radio button to something else.
- Rewatched a portion of Pal Joey and had forgotten the remarkable lineup of good first-tier standards that came from it. Had not forgotten what a cringe-fest it is with its thumpingly awful attitudes.

No monkeys are loose in my neighborhood, but some pedestrians walking by often can't help themselves and they steal some pears. Dog Luna sits by the front screen door and growls terrifyingly if she sees anyone poaching. It's hilarious.

I was gonna say, gee, Jaki sounds like Randy Weston here. And lo.

You need same for kitchen vervets, Chris? I do odd jobs, though the commute would be a monster.

I appreciate how Iverson draws strong lines of connection from Jaki Byard to Cecil Taylor.
