Don't know if you'll get to them, but the Herbie Nichols Project put out some good albums of his stuff (the band I first heard Ben Allison, Frank Kimbrough, Ted Nash and some other fine musicians in).

Never enough Nichols. I have been entranced by his playing and compositions ever since reading AB Spellman's Black Music, Four Lives (later re-sold under the title Four Lives in the Bebop Business). One of the chapters was about Nichols.

Yes. That new Omnivore release of unheard Hassan is a revelation. Speaking of revelations, Mr Bongo will be releasing on 9 September a never-before-heard 1969 recording from Horace Tapscott. From the same group that performed the monumental The Giant Is Awakened session: us.mrbongo.com...

So many fine records to choose from for that last set. The Duck Baker and a lovely Frank Kimbrough LP didn't make it in.

Actually, Bandcamp is donating their portion of sales to the NAACP Defense Fund, which is different from the NAACP. It is the nation's premier organization defending and promoting Black justice. An excellent and wise choice.
