Hellish morning of infuriating phone and online bureaucracy, trying to figure out if I’d be eligible for unemployment. Which I guess is apropos today as I just took out from the library yesterday Graeber’s “Bullshit Jobs” to read in earnest (having watched many discussions with him and read about it). Thanks for paying homage to the Black Panthers today, Trouble! That’s another book I need to get (Black Against Empire). Anybody else see “Judas and the Black Messiah”? Watched half and it’s great but making my blood boil, to see how a caught criminal can be so easily railroaded into becoming a snitch for the cops. Hampton was a unique and powerful young leader with incredible vision and commitment. Tunes have been beautiful. Thanks.

	11:21am still b/p: In a recently watched documentary, the narrator said "strange fruit" in a metaphorical way, far from and unrelated to the song or its meaning in any way, and I forget what the hell he was actually talking about, but I remarked that its figurative use anywhere else pulls the brain up a little short.

Our youngest, Ms. M was found under similar circumstances like Sonja. Pulled in for gas, found a kitten under my car! I remember before pulling up, I saw something dark next to the passenger door at the car at the pump. Not sure if she fell from the tire or was dumped but I pulled up and heard a loud 'MEOW'. Looked around, couldn't find the source until I looked under my car. I was shaking, thinking I injured her, nope but she was very close to my tire.

Callipygian, now 19.5, we pulled out of the toxic back yard of our last apt. The kittens were apparently home-foster births, but they were clearly weaned too soon. Major pica issues for poor Goblin. (K8 has lost a lot of sweaters. And all our fleece blankets.)

	11:44am Zipperhead7: As dire as the contemporary scenario is, the situation is far from hopeless. We see disaster everywhere; we also see generosity and resistance everywhere. Yet things may get so dire that the old order will crash and burn. What is undeniable is that more and more people are being excluded from participation in the world or consigned to its margins. It will get worse; likely much worse. But I recently read a fine book by Saskia Sassen titled Exclusions: Brutality and Complexity in the Global Economy. She concluded: ‘The spaces of the expelled cry out for conceptual recognition. They are many, they are growing, and they are diversifying . . . They are, potentially, the new spaces for making – making local economies, new histories, and new modes of membership.’ This is where we have to look – to the spaces of the expelled, to those who are excluded and marginalized as their ranks continue to grow. This is where the new spaces for creation will be.

It's on the Trouble reading list, as well as the book you just mentioned (I'm adding it now)

Hellish morning of infuriating phone and online bureaucracy, trying to figure out if I’d be eligible for unemployment. Which I guess is apropos today as I just took out from the library yesterday Graeber’s “Bullshit Jobs” to read in earnest (having watched many discussions with him and read about it). Thanks for paying homage to the Black Panthers today, Trouble! That’s another book I need to get (Black Against Empire). Anybody else see “Judas and the Black Messiah”? Watched half and it’s great but making my blood boil, to see how a caught criminal can be so easily railroaded into becoming a snitch for the cops. Hampton was a unique and powerful young leader with incredible vision and commitment. Tunes have been beautiful. Thanks.

Our youngest, Ms. M was found under similar circumstances like Sonja. Pulled in for gas, found a kitten under my car! I remember before pulling up, I saw something dark next to the passenger door at the car at the pump. Not sure if she fell from the tire or was dumped but I pulled up and heard a loud 'MEOW'. Looked around, couldn't find the source until I looked under my car. I was shaking, thinking I injured her, nope but she was very close to my tire.

Callipygian, now 19.5, we pulled out of the toxic back yard of our last apt. The kittens were apparently home-foster births, but they were clearly weaned too soon. Major pica issues for poor Goblin. (K8 has lost a lot of sweaters. And all our fleece blankets.)

Yet things may get so dire that the old order will crash and burn. What is undeniable is that more and more people are being excluded from participation in the world or consigned to its margins. It will get worse; likely much worse. But I recently read a fine book by Saskia Sassen titled Exclusions: Brutality and Complexity in the Global Economy. She concluded: ‘The spaces of the expelled cry out for conceptual recognition. They are many, they are growing, and they are diversifying . . . They are, potentially, the new spaces for making – making local economies, new histories, and new modes of membership.’ This is where we have to look – to the spaces of the expelled, to those who are excluded and marginalized as their ranks continue to grow. This is where the new spaces for creation will be.
