A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Hey, TDK60. Yeah, following SM Ken's lead, my new phrase for the week is National Psychopathy Carnival Week. But I'm taking advantage of it to jump on the cheese grenade. Making a baked ziti today.

Note the St Louis similarities to Burroughs' declamatory voice, or maybe Burroughs intentionally aped his a bit, or maybe that's just how U.S. private schools taught it 1866-1950.

Sipping espresso with chicory while listening and reading passages from Upton Sinclair’s “Cry For Justice,” the introduction for which was written by comrade Jack London.
Excellent poem by a Percy Adams Hutchinson (American poet 1875-1952) followed by a quote from a writer Henry A. Overstreet (born the same year) that is just hitting the spot right now. Much like your set, Trouble, and the company here …

Not to be too negative, but that NYS bill sounds like total posturing and shifting the problem to users, not manufacturers. It will squeeze the people who can least afford it and who need those bikes to make a living and will make no difference to anyone else. Go after the manufacturers and the Silicon Valley venture-capital architects of the gig economy if you want to make a difference, O legislators. But all they want to do is posture. Antiworker regulations only hurt the workers, it turns out.
Zinn, Astoria?

Have you read “Black Against Empire”? The introduction was riveting. Has Huey Newton and (I think) Bobby Seale coming down the airliner staircase of a plane just landed in Peking (maybe) to a throng of love from Communist China. Preempting Nixon’s visit as the first American emissaries during the Cold War.
Just before the pandemic I had to return it to the library and didn’t get to read the rest. Think I must have it for my own library.
