I always find it so depressing to hear about artists, political organizers, and other seekers who feel they have to rely on them for their works. I understand that it's hard to cut free of them since they have such a large subscriber base. But ... I wish everyone could.

I'm so sorry to hear that you've both experienced sexual violence. Given the statistics we've all heard, I guess it falls into that these days way too active category of "shocking, but not surprising", which is in itself really depressing. I'm creeped out to hear that someone "in the community" is among those who've perpetrated these acts, and it naturally makes me wonder if this community is one I overlap with, if I might unknowingly be in social contact with whoever it is. Healing feelings to anyone who's gone/going through that.

I'm so sorry to hear that you've both experienced sexual violence. Given the statistics we've all heard, I guess it falls into that these days way too active category of "shocking, but not surprising", which is in itself really depressing. I'm creeped out to hear that someone "in the community" is among those who've perpetrated these acts, and it naturally makes me wonder if this community is one I overlap with, if I might unknowingly be in social contact with whoever it is. Healing feelings to anyone who's gone/going through that.
