October 31, 2021: Halloween 2021 w/ The Clock Strikes Midnight (From 8 AM to 8 PM EST) + More at 9 PM and beyond...
This year I'm playlisting the Halloween Record Blog by illustrator Drew Friedman from 2011. (Only missing a few) I'll be playing at least one track from each record in the order presented on his list, until I run out of time (plus a bonus track or two and a special musical guest). - Herk
"Here are over 180 covers of spooky, horrifying, terrifying, and in some cases ridiculous monster-related, science fiction related/ghost related/gothic-related and Halloween-related LP and singles vinyl album covers. Some are common, some rare and obscure, some great and some awful. You decide." - Drew Friedman

Boris Karloff | The Vampire Sleeps | Tales of the Frightened Vol. 2 | 1963 | LP | "...and volume two. "Are YOU one of the frightened?" asks the soothing, sinister voice of the great Boris Karloff at the beginning of each tale. Great cover art and spooky readings of short, short horror stories. This was also used on a paperback cover with the same title." - Drew Friedman (Background music is recognized as: "Sonik Re-entry" by Dissevelt/Baltan - H.H.) | 0:22:14 (Pop-up)

Boris Karloff | Rip Van Winkle | Boris Karloff Narrates The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow / Rip Van Winkle | 1977 | LP | The 1977 re-issue of 1959's "Tales of Mystery and Imagination" by Mr. Pickwick. Bela Lugosi | Part 1 | Suspense (An Original Radio Broadcast) | 1973 | LP | "A George Garabedian Production". Slightly misleading cover, as Dracula was no where to be found on this old Suspense radio drama featuring Bela Lugosi. - Drew Friedman | 1:34:11 (Pop-up)

Cherney Berg, Gabriel Dell | Frankenstein's Monster Talks | Famous Monsters Speak! | 1963 | LP | Aurora Monster model art (by James Bama) on a record cover! Wow! This was a must-have, although it's basically former Dead End/Eastside kid, actor Gabriel Dell (excellently) imitating Bela Lugosi as Dracula and the "voice" of the Frankenstein Monster. Another example of the cover art being far better than the actual record (written by Cherney Berg!). - Drew Friedman | 8:57:49 (Pop-up)

last week, i witnessed a crow doggedly and mercilessly attack a much larger turkey vulture. it was chaotic and loud, with the crow cawing non-stop as it continually got the upper wing as they tumbled past my windows.
i'm guessing nest invasion -- they seem to co-exist without any problems (was the first and only such clash i've witnessed here)
