	3:33pm northguineahills: I didn't know much about Roy Ayer's music beforehand, but a drummer friend dragged me to the show. I was then enlightened.
	♥ 3:33pm Funky16Corners: @sbp - Never Can Say... is one of my all time favorite songs. I could live in that elevator.
	♥ 3:36pm zzz: that was a cool Freddie Mccoy track, always wanting to explore him more, really haven’t heard anything else, but the name sticks out to me bc of the composer of the track One Cylinder on lou donaldson’s Alligator Bogaloo album, which every note and are etched in my brain (based in the groove of that tune I am assuming it’s the same Freddie McCoy)
	♥ 3:37pm Funky16Corners: @zzz - Freddie McCoy (same guy) is one my fave soul jazz artists. Unfortunately very little of his work has seen reissue (none of his stuff as a leader, as far as I know) so you have to find the original records

	♥ 4:16pm Funky16Corners: @sbp - I think they may be THE underrated American band of their time. They may have been too sophisticated for some folks to fully grasp. They had a good-time, boogie side, but there's a lot of jazzy stuff wandering around in the mix, too. I love everything they did with George.

	4:26pm still b/p: Oh, I returned it to old boss. I knew him to be one of those devoted fans. I was never a particular or active fan, but the band's sound and standards give me nice airy recalls of 70s feels and currents.

	♥ 4:29pm Funky16Corners: @Brian - I read Lowell's bio and it's kind of disheartening how unsuccessful this music was in the commercial sense.

	♥ 4:32pm Brian in UK: Dare I say that they were on a par with The Band for the sheer enjoyment they put into the music and the genuine feeling that anything was possible.
	♥ 4:33pm Little Danny: I think I say this every time you play any Lowell George-related music, Larry, but Little Feat and Steely Dan are the two rock artists whose music I now love, but it took me decades to get there with each of 'em.
	♥ 4:33pm Funky16Corners: As much as I love The Ban, I think LF was more consistent over the long haul. Not a sour note on any of those 1970s albums
	♥ 4:33pm Funky16Corners: @Danny - There's a lot of common threads between the sounds of those two bands, too
	♥ 4:35pm Little Danny: I agree Larry, I was just thinking about that. Both heavily and quite willingly intertwined with what was happening in studios in the 1970s.
	♥ 4:35pm Discotech Underground: I prefer Little Feat to The Band. LF was more intriguing and tended to "jam" more and I love that.
	♥ 4:36pm Brian in UK: The Band made two albums before they played live, so not quite the same. I remember the first time I heard Do It Again circa 73/74 fair turned my head.
	♥ 4:39pm Funky16Corners: I think The Band and Little Feat are really apples and oranges. The Band were more formalist, across the board, hailing back to rockabilly, blues, country etc. Little Feat were a more modern band. I love them both, though.

	♥ 4:40pm zzz: dr lonnie smith late career resurgence/reappraisal (??) is a beautiful thing, one of the best people

	♥ 4:49pm Discotech Underground: When I think of Steely Dan, I think of someone saying back in the day "Steely Dan LP's are what you use when you want to show off your stereo"!
	4:50pm still b/p: I put Katy Lied in the vehicle player from time to time, sing along loud and awful with Dr. Wu, and then Everyone's Gone To The Movies is next in the track order. 45 years of familiarity makes me sing along with that too, but I keep thinking, no, you couldn't release it today.
