	10:21am WoodsOfNH (now Maine): Same thing happened here in the 70's with the so-called Bottle Bill. Proposal was to put deposits on cans/bottles so that there'd be less roadside trash. There was much John Steward-styled arm-flipping about how it would kill small businesses (because they'd have to take returnables). What actually happened, smart people opened redemption centers and...there was _way_ less roadside trash.

I have to head out to the water-quality sampling, drop it off, take the dog to the vet, and variously otherwise rejoin society after a week of COVIDsolation. I'm frankly nervous. There was also a large scale Keith Haring show at the same time there. It was incredible. It had tons of Keith's personal ephemera like his walkman, mix tapes etc that were super cool to see.

There was much John Steward-styled arm-flipping about how it would kill small businesses (because they'd have to take returnables). What actually happened, smart people opened redemption centers and...there was _way_ less roadside trash.

There was also a large scale Keith Haring show at the same time there. It was incredible. It had tons of Keith's personal ephemera like his walkman, mix tapes etc that were super cool to see.
