	3:26pm Funky16Corners: I first heard it on a mix tape years ago and chased my own copy of the 45 for YEARS. I was a very happy boy when I finally put that one in my record box.
	3:27pm Little Danny: This Bobby Fuller track is so rapturous.
	3:28pm Funky16Corners: Yeah, they had a lot of joy in their sound
	3:30pm Little Danny: Oh man this Deep Six track is a huge fave. I put it on last year's premium. That swooping guitar (or bass?) riff.
	3:30pm doctorjazz: Really Hard to schedule shots in New Jersey. My younger daughter, who's a teacher, and nervous about returning to the classroom, couldn't schedule one. Places would open slots at midnight, and they'd be gone before she could finish booking the slot. The only way she (and my older daughter) got them was through help of her boyfriend, who's a computer geek (works for Google...). He wrote a program that found open slots and booked one before it was taken.

	3:49pm Funky16Corners: That pathway from local labels to national distribution is one of my favorite parts of older music. Who made the decision to pick a local mover for national airplay? There are some really obscure records, too.
	3:49pm still b/p: All of them hoping for national success? Or was there a decent and appreciative off-chart market to aim for?

	3:57pm Candy-O'67: This is true, Larry. It's funny how those two states switch places a lot. I've also lived in CA for a long period of time and I'm from TX. I'm back in TX now, but it's funny. Seems that a lot of Californians have made an exit for TX in the past 10 year or so. It's back and forth all the time!

	4:02pm still b/p: Just saw that Giant Step was B-side to Last Train to Clarksville, so it's interesting that right outa the gate someone thought a little psychedlic break was a good idea in a Monkees song.

	4:35pm Little Danny: The European Phillips label had a esoteric sort of distribution deal with Mercury Records in this country in the '60s. But, under Mercury's aegis, the Philips Records of Thorinshield, Changin' Times, etc. also became essentially a typical American subsidiary label all its own (with no hard connection to Europe). It drew from American artists and was oriented to the American market.

	3:26pm Funky16Corners: I first heard it on a mix tape years ago and chased my own copy of the 45 for YEARS. I was a very happy boy when I finally put that one in my record box.

	3:30pm Little Danny: Oh man this Deep Six track is a huge fave. I put it on last year's premium. That swooping guitar (or bass?) riff.
	3:30pm doctorjazz: Really Hard to schedule shots in New Jersey. My younger daughter, who's a teacher, and nervous about returning to the classroom, couldn't schedule one. Places would open slots at midnight, and they'd be gone before she could finish booking the slot. The only way she (and my older daughter) got them was through help of her boyfriend, who's a computer geek (works for Google...). He wrote a program that found open slots and booked one before it was taken.

But, under Mercury's aegis, the Philips Records of Thorinshield, Changin' Times, etc. also became essentially a typical American subsidiary label all its own (with no hard connection to Europe). It drew from American artists and was oriented to the American market.
