He said they spent three days crossing one guy's ranch in Texas, and the guy would ride out and meet them when they camped every night to have a drink around the fire. Which is a much nicer story than the one when the guy charged me $10 to borrow his slim jim when I locked my keys in the car in 1992 in Dallas. Deep. Ellum. Blues.
