It's like Halloween, but kids make colorful wax paper lanterns and go from door to door with them, singing songs (and get candy and fruit for this). I don't know if it's still celebrated this way, but from a distance you could see streams of lanterns ambling through the night. And if you were carrying one of them, all the more fun.
