	🥊 10:01pm Handy Haversack: OK. @cozy bitch and anyone who cares, here's the recipe Kate follows. We're not bakers. This is the only baked thing of the year for us. And it's deranged: 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate 3 tbsp. butter 3/4 cup sugar 1 cup Karo 3 eggs, slightly beatan 1 tsp. vanilla 1 cup coarse chopped pecans pie shell 1/2 cup whipping cream. WHIPPED Melt the choc. and butter over hot water or in microwave. Combine sugar and Karo in saucepan and bring to boil over high heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved [Ed.: MELT SUGAR IN EVEN SWEETER LIQUID, DEAR GOD]. Boil for 1 minute. Pour choc. mixture slowly into syrip, blending well, then pour very slowly over eggs, stirring constantly, to mix well. Add the vanilla and pecams then pour into pie shell. Bake at 375 for 45-50 mins. or until filling is puffed across top. Cool. Garnish with whipped cream and pecan halves before serving. WHIPPED

The pure root, not the sauce, which is mixed with mayo. Handy: Southern style TxGiving/Xmas sweet-potatoes can also carry a hefty payload of bourbon. And butter, and brown sugar and orange zest.

	10:26pm mariano: Handy: I'm not a chef by any means, but as I've seen it done, you make a sauce in a saute pan with the butter, brown sugar, bourbon, and a dash of orange zest. Oven roast the sweet potatoes in foil first then take them out and puree them while working in the sauce. Put some pecans on top and bake. They say the booze is supposed to cook out, but that's a big lie.

And it's deranged: 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate 3 tbsp. butter 3/4 cup sugar 1 cup Karo 3 eggs, slightly beatan 1 tsp. vanilla 1 cup coarse chopped pecans pie shell 1/2 cup whipping cream. WHIPPED Melt the choc. and butter over hot water or in microwave. Combine sugar and Karo in saucepan and bring to boil over high heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved [Ed.: MELT SUGAR IN EVEN SWEETER LIQUID, DEAR GOD]. Boil for 1 minute. Pour choc. mixture slowly into syrip, blending well, then pour very slowly over eggs, stirring constantly, to mix well. Add the vanilla and pecams then pour into pie shell. Bake at 375 for 45-50 mins. or until filling is puffed across top. Cool. Garnish with whipped cream and pecan halves before serving. WHIPPED
