...Has been observed how ironic that interwebz started with user groups & now we're all plugged into Zuckerland for social connection... The problem is its great @ some things & sh*tty & also dishonest about others. The Tech Monopolies need to be AntiTrusted so Competition is possible.

This social media discussion is so relevant since I am at the point of deactivating my Facebook account Sick of the intrusion and the feeling that someone is always looking. Will keep Twitter; don't really use Instagram.

Just got back on Facebook after deleting my profile and already having second thoughts. Desktop only, no phone app. Saw your post in the newsletter today Sheila, rock on!
+ ordered "Make More Noise: Women In Independent Music Uk 1977-1987" this afternoon. Becoming addicted to Cherry Red/Grapefruit comps.

I can certainly see the downside of that same kind of self-sorting if the field of endeavor were, say, rabid racism and fomenting of hate instead of a being a wristwatch or fancy rat or bunny rabbit fancier.

I am sitting on a screened-in porch in Cape May, NJ, listening to your show while watching the rising, shining almost full moon that is rising. Clouds are slowly drifting over the moon. The air is crisp. I am sipping some Scotch Whiskey (The Dimple Pinch) that my father brought home from Edinburgh, Scotland maybe 25 years ago? Your music is the soundtrack to an eerily dream-like state I am now experiencing.....much gratitude to YOU! xoxleigh

I'm putzing around in the basement, trying to organize things a bit, as I sort out some emotions. Also the perfect soundtrack.
Cheers all!

not sure where you are, but if you can take a moment to go outside and look up for the moon....and take a deep breath in!

I did note that the last time I did a show playing only female-fronted or women-only bands (not making a Big Announcement about it at the time, because that seemed lame – how many shows have happened to feature only men, there's never an announcement then) – absolutely nobody noticed. They just enjoyed the music.
www.wfmu.org...
There was also a sort of narrative thread running through the show. Nobody noticed that, either. That's fine, too; it helped me as I was stringing things together, and thus served its purpose. What's important is if listeners enjoy the ride. And as always, I'm enjoying the ride of your show today! Thanks for carrying us from the daylight into this disturbingly early evening dark lit from within with song.

The Johnny Nash record was the hit as far as I remember and is my favorite one. Didnt reaize it was a John D. Laudermilk song and arrangement by Milton deLugg
