Hello? Wired up, wake up, hi Don and Noah!

Debbie Davenport:

maybe they are having technical difficulties?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm
chresti:

It seems so.

There we go..

I think DJ ARB is giving him a jingle.
Avatar 3:08pm
Debbie Davenport:

Oh good! I immediately started acting like a mom and got worried.
Avatar 3:08pm
Mr Fab:

Well, hey, nobody’s after them, if they want to go late.
Avatar 3:09pm
Mr Fab:

Richard Cheese “Closer”, swingin his way thru 9 Inch Nails. Quite the improvement on the original, eh?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm
Rich in Washington:

Ironically free to listen to live radio today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm
ironybread:

Good God that Richard Cheese cut was great
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm
Rich in Washington:

Technically, Mr. Fab, you're the DJ right now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm
Franco Twinkie:

That was so funny! The idea of a smoothie singing that at some place like the Dresden Room to a bunch of seen-it-all types is to good.
Avatar 3:15pm
ARB:

Don's on his way!
Avatar 3:15pm
Mr Fab:

Just heard the recently deceased Spencer Davis shilling for Great Shakes. Now we've got Enoch Light "out of nowhere."
Avatar 3:16pm
Mr Fab:

Yeah Richard Cheese is great, lots of his stuff in the stream.
Avatar 3:17pm

hi Dolor-X. I think I'm there.
Avatar 3:21pm
Debbie Davenport:

Hi Dolor-X!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm
Franco Twinkie:

I really cracked up last night when I heard the opening of We Ain't Got Nothing Yet and it turned into The Blues Magoos shilling Great Shakes. But it made complete sense! In 1966-67 I was glued to afternoon cartoons that morphed into teenage dance party shows. To me, they will always be one and the same.
Avatar 3:21pm
Dolor-X:

Hi Debby Davenport, no tech probs for me. Only prob is I’m at work.
Avatar 3:22pm
Debbie Davenport:

Nice to see you here.
Avatar 3:22pm
Mr Fab:

you'd think that Great Shakes would have been a super successful company with all those groovy rock stars doing ads for them. But I dont' ever remember them.
Avatar 3:22pm
Mr Fab:

Don! Noah! LET'S ROCK!!
Avatar 3:22pm

Fangs, you too!

AWESOME
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm

You're to young Fab. I pleaded with my mom to buy me some, to no avail.

Hi Mr. Fab. Sometimes I’m neither.

Great Shakes was just not the greatest product.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm

Avatar 3:28pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Hey Gang - was up super late fixing the guest mic, and now Noah had to split! Ha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm
StringOFperils:

Exactly, Franco. All that stuff was at the front end of 'astronaut food' moving into the mainstream through the miracle of food-science. As long as it was 'knew', that was how to market it. What went into it? Who cared? No rules yet.
Avatar 3:29pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Anyway, I'm here - do not fear
Avatar 3:29pm
Debbie Davenport:

Glad you made it.

Did he say a "knapsack mama"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm

I would throw fits at the store because I wanted the latest snack garbage, but my mom remained implacable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm
ironybread:

No song ever can out-glam or out-attack "This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm
StringOFperils:

Heh, I meant to say 'NEW' up there, not 'knew'. Zoo time. It's me and you time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm
Franco Twinkie:

Ha! Chresti started singing this song one day when we were fighting in the kitchen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm
chresti:

Indeed, ironybread!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm
ironybread:

Well, to be fair... www.youtube.com...
Justin Hawkins' cover version is screamingly good, literally
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm
StringOFperils:

Time for a milk run. And perhaps, some magic flowers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm
chresti:

The other song I sing is "throw it away and get a new one" whenever Franco can't find something and buys another one instead of looking for the thing he already has.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm
Franco Twinkie:

Milk AND a burrito! I just opened the front door for the first time today. I think I can wear shorts when I leave the house. It's kind of warm out there.
Avatar 3:44pm
Kitten Sparkles:

Can I go 20 minutes over today since I started so late (again, sorry!)?
Avatar 3:46pm
Mr Fab:

Yes, no one’s following you, so rock on
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm
chresti:

Oh, I need more magic flowers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm
Franco Twinkie:

Chresti also sings Don't Talk to Me by The Eyes when she get tired of listening to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm
ironybread:

I like to go up to people leaving the gun show and scream-singing "We Built This City" by Starship, which is why I have been killed so many times.
Avatar 3:54pm

Hey guys!! Ill be back next week =) I actually drove to Don's but he slept in so I drove home lol
Avatar 3:55pm

When I saw Roxy Music and they did Do the Strand, and Brian Ferry sings the words Can't Beat Strand Power, he raised one arm and made a muscle like Mighty Mouse.... I guess you had to be there...never mind.
Avatar 4:11pm

the Quick
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm
Franco Twinkie:

Remember when you couldn't escape The Quick? They were everywhere!
Avatar 4:30pm
Debbie Davenport:

I don't. I'm only 54 and a half. Old enough to have had cereal box records but not cool enough to be a mid 70's listener of the Quick.
Avatar 4:30pm
Debbie Davenport:

baby baby baby
Avatar 4:33pm
Dolor-X:

Yes to cereal box vinyl.
Avatar 4:33pm
Mr Fab:

Where the Quick that famous? Like the Knack or sumthin?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm
Franco Twinkie:

Oh, for some reason I thought you were reliving the most debauched period of your life, Debbie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm
Franco Twinkie:

They were never famous Fab, they just opened for a lot of people.

At least you got yet beauty sleep
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm
StringOFperils:

Glam up the works. Glam into overtime.
Avatar 4:49pm
Debbie Davenport:

@ Franco
Actually I was kind of childishly debauched. I felt I had this pressure in 1971 to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up. Days later I finally decided I wanted to be like those girls on the monkees tv show and chase the rock performers. I would chase the boys on the playground and tackle them ad take off their shirts, etc. then get in trouble. That's all I can say here.
Avatar 4:49pm
Debbie Davenport:

Yes! more music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm
chresti:

Gimme gimme yummy yummy...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm
Franco Twinkie:

Debbie, It's great you that you were a self-starter when you were so young. The compass always points north, no matter how you shake it, that's what I say.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm
chresti:

Boys chased me in school, but I out ran them.
Avatar 4:56pm
Debbie Davenport:

Thanks Franco! Chresti, those were some fun times I bet. In their own way.
Avatar 4:57pm
Debbie Davenport:

I say that becuase I could tell a couple of those boys liked it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:58pm
Franco Twinkie:

Are you kidding? Of course they liked it!
Avatar 5:00pm
Debbie Davenport:

I thought only some of them did. The ones that would slow down so I could catch them were more obvious.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:02pm
Franco Twinkie:

Funny how things never change Debbie.
Avatar 5:05pm
Debbie Davenport:

=)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm
Franco Twinkie:

Debbie, there is is this song by Big Brother and the Holding Company called Catch Me Daddy. It's about the chase, and how much fun it is. I dug it out so I can listen to it on my taco run.
Avatar 5:12pm
Debbie Davenport:

Cool Franco. I should listen to that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm
Franco Twinkie:

It's on Live at Winterland '68.

Avatar 5:27pm
Debbie Davenport:

We would of been fast friends!
Avatar 5:29pm

There was some good inspiring music available to kids then. I hope kids today have something good in this department. we don't all have that older sibling or cousin to turn us on to things.
