I love Kookie, like mad.
Avatar 6:09pm
Mr Fab:

Kookie's is truly one of my idols.

Was glad to finally see some episodes of "77 Sunset Strip" few years ago. Kookie in action!
Avatar 6:10pm

I've never seen it. Where were you able to watch? Youtube?
  6:10pm
Martinibomb:

It's on metv at night I record it heh
Avatar 6:11pm
shangri-lounge:

Ha! Is that like another TV Land?
  6:11pm
Martinibomb:

I never got to see it until the last few years

Yes very much!
Avatar 6:11pm
Constance De Witt:

Cool channel, bet we can't have it in Canada
Avatar 6:12pm

Ah, cool. I think my issues all stem from the fact that I grew up watching too much TV Land.

All the cool shows are on super late at night

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm
Otis Fodder:

Wow, never heard of TV Land but reading about it, has been on since 1996 and was Nick at Nite... I do remember watching that in the 90s. Not having cable for 20 years miss out on a lot of rerun programming but now with Roku and channels there's a lot of classic sitcoms and shows.
Avatar 6:15pm
Constance De Witt:

Haha look at what song has been played twice today!
  6:16pm
Martinibomb:

Yeh tv land was the 80s?? First time I ever saw Mr Ed I flipped out!
Avatar 6:16pm
shangri-lounge:

Oh no, did Otis play this too? LOL
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm
Otis Fodder:

Jane is always welcome. This song and Lolita Go Home are my late 70s Jane favs.
Avatar 6:17pm
shangri-lounge:

jane needs to get her timelines straight though.
Avatar 6:17pm
Mr Fab:

Yeah, we need our own TV: Sheena's Jungle Channel. So much cool stuff out there in public domain.
Avatar 6:17pm
Constance De Witt:

Otis get more records, you can't play the same song
  6:17pm
Martinibomb:

Nickelodeon had all those shows on in the mid 80s and that spun off to tv land? I'm just trying to remember

  6:18pm
Martinibomb:

That's it!
Avatar 6:18pm
Mr Fab:

Yeah, plenty of non-60s names in there, ha. Pretty sure Buddy Holly was dead by the '60s. Fact-checking the songs!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm
Otis Fodder:

Fab - Sorta like how DJ Donna Summer/Jason Forrest had Awesome Network years back.
Avatar 6:18pm
shangri-lounge:

TV Land made summer vacation worthwhile. Otherwise, it was Blue's Clues for dayzzz.
  6:19pm
Martinibomb:

I loved network awesome
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20pm
Otis Fodder:

I missed out on Nick in the 80s, was not too hooked on TV as a teen, came later... but I was addicted to Night Flight and the like, bent me shaped me.
Avatar 6:20pm
shangri-lounge:

Yes Mr. Fab, and T-rex was Tyrannosaurus Rex back in the 60's...
  6:20pm

It was mostly just a nicely wrapped youtube playlist
Avatar 6:20pm

I've got some more TV Land favs toward the end of this here playlist.

Rich in Washington:

I remember getting Nickelodeon in our household when we got our huge satellite antenna rig. And Nick at Night had just started up and was showing long marathons of The Monkees and Dragnet.
Avatar 6:21pm
shangri-lounge:

I loved the Monkees. Dragnet was not cute to me as a middle schooler, so I did not watch.
  6:21pm
Martinibomb:

Yeh I was just barely old enough for night flight good times that and liquid tv
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22pm
Otis Fodder:

I remember doing the Dragnet marathon, along with shows like Bonanza, Perry Mason... crazy thing is I've only seen a small scattering of Monkees episodes... but have seen Head well over a dozen times.
Avatar 6:22pm
shangri-lounge:

I knew both my cousin and I were weird when I was showing her my Monkees CD in high school, and she was showing me her Seal CD...
  6:22pm
Martinibomb:

@rich that's what we had hah big old satellite
Avatar 6:22pm
shangri-lounge:

but i wasn't sure who was most correct.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:23pm

Liquid TV was at the tailend of mtv watching... along with Yo MTV Raps and that 2 hour modern music show thing, think I quit MTV completely around 1993.
  6:23pm
Martinibomb:

I learned everything I needed to know from liquid tv invaluable resource
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm
Bob A. Rella:

I need to see that Joe Meek biopic again.
Avatar 6:30pm
shangri-lounge:

is that the one with Kevin Spacey? I'm afraid to watch it...
Avatar 6:30pm
shangri-lounge:

things are gonna get slightly joe meekier as the show goes on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm
Globis Trotter:

Young Ones is a hoot. I should watch it again, it's been years. Classic funny ha ha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm
Bob A. Rella:

I don't remember who was in it, exactly. I need to look it up. I can't even recall the title. I just remember the guy playing Joe just yelling his head off for the entire movie.

Avatar 6:37pm

yeah, Meek was not meek in real life. A Trump-like personality, if not crazier. Glad i didn't know him personally but love his records!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37pm

You got that right Fab, I'll keep the music and would do the same for the distance.

Mr Fab:

Ray Cathode = Beatles' producer George Martin
Avatar 7:12pm
shangri-lounge:

ohh, is that pseudonym?
Avatar 7:13pm
Mr Fab:

think it was a one-off pre-Beatles studio project.
Avatar 7:14pm
shangri-lounge:

Oh, interesting. There are some Beatles super fans listening who I bet will tell me more about this later, haha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:35pm
Bob A. Rella:

We need an all organ instrumental show!
Avatar 7:41pm
shangri-lounge:

I would definitely listen to that show.
Avatar 7:41pm
Mr Fab:

I think it's safe to say that Leonard Nimoy had nothing to do with that version of "Music to Watch Girls By." Tho maybe he was a-twistin' and a-fruggin' in the studio while the musicians were playing. In his Spock outfit, of course.
Avatar 7:43pm
shangri-lounge:

Do you say that because the song is actually good, Mr. Fab?
Avatar 7:43pm
shangri-lounge:

Seems fitting to play today with the Shatner release.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm
Otis Fodder:

Thanks for the soundtrack while making supper Shangri-La. Off to eat, have a nice evening!
Avatar 7:48pm
shangri-lounge:

Yes, you and Cat have a nice night, Otis!!
Avatar 7:49pm
Mr Fab:

Yeah, I have no idea if Nimoy actually played any instruments on the instrumentals. The cover notes don't say. So probably filler from the album producer. Super GROOVY filler, tho!
Avatar 7:55pm
Mr Fab:

ha, what a concept, "Cha Cha on The Moon." Maybe solo will play it on his NEW SHOW "Cha Cha Heels"? Debuting this Mon.
Avatar 7:55pm
shangri-lounge:

Hmm, maybe he just had a ~*concept*~!
Avatar 7:59pm
Constance De Witt:

Thank you for the nice show, I am alone at home scanning postcards with a nice mood created by *you*, Shangri-La!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59pm
