Don't know whether you saw, but I found and listened to "Dreams/Answers," the first Rare Earth LP, which came out on Verve. Not this heavy, polished sound. More prog and pop.

I have never come across a copy of that record. I'd snap it up instantly if I did

Zoot morphed into Dantalions Chariot. Classic case of R 'n B to Psych.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm
Funky16Corners:

Yes indeed, and then Zoot and Andy ended up in the Animals (who covered a Datalians Chariot song)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm
Little Danny:

Did not know that about Zoot to Dantalion's Chariot. I was just jamming "This Island" last night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm

Madman Running Through the Fields is the jam.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:45pm
Brian in UK:

We called it phasing you called it flanging.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm
Funky16Corners:

Brian Auger wrote a song and used Zoot's real name as the title: George Bruno Money
Avatar 3:48pm
Erica:

This is the same Zoot Rick Springfield was in right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm
Funky16Corners:

No, that was a band called Zoot. This is a musician named Zoot Money
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm
Mike Sin:

re: Zoot Money
I recommend Andy Summers' autobiog "One Train Later" -- He is very lucid and provides some nice detail about his days with Zoot, the Animals, and the tribulations of a gigging musician at the time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm
Funky16Corners:

Hey Mike! I'd like to check that out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm
Funky16Corners:

Next set is all 60s pop/rock
Avatar 3:52pm
Erica:

Ooh never heard this version of Get it Up For Love" before. I always knew the Ned Doheny version. As I mentioned before I am a fan of Yacht Rock as well as 60s music.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:52pm
Brian in UK:

Larry, was the Johnny Rivers produced by Arif Mardin?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm
Funky16Corners:

@Erica - There are a ton of covers, David Cassidy, Tata Vega, Stephen Michael Schwartz, Ben E King and few others
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm
Mike Sin:

One interesting aspect about all those biogs focusing on '60s musicians around London:

The money wasn't always great, but all these bands never seemed short for gigs. If you wanted to play eight nights a week, it seemed like there was always another club looking to book a band!
Avatar 3:55pm
Erica:

On an unrelated note, Larry did you hear about the Peanuts specials being moved to Apple + ? Sad they won't air on regular tv anymore.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm
Funky16Corners:

@Brian - produced by Johnny Rivers and Joe Sidone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm
Funky16Corners:

@Mike - Someone published a snapshot of the Spencer Davis Group and I was entranced by the poster on the wall advertising six other amazing bands
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm
Funky16Corners:

@Erica - I saw that. Sad.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:58pm
Brian in UK:

Sad thing when the Motown Revue came over here around 64/65, they had to add Georgie Fame & his Blue Flames to generate some interest.
Avatar 4:03pm
Erica:

Very sad indeed Larry. Also I misread Zoot Money as just Zoot. Sorry about that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm
Funky16Corners:

@Brian - That's crazy

  4:28pm
CalZone!:

wow, a cool record made by someone named Howard!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm

Larry, do you know the Koala LP on Capitol? This Howard Boggess reminds me a bit of that vibe, if a bit more understated.

I dig it in other words.
