"Blue Light Yokohama" is an excellent piece of music, something very eerie about it.

Man, what an intro to this set! I cannot wait

Krull Sagan:

Any particularly unusual acquisitions, Scrappy?
  5:10pm
Miss G:

Scrappy, did you ever get any Swiss absinthe? (sorry to be so corny, but it has to do with a loved one. I always wanted it, and so I thought maybe it would be a nice thing) Sorry about your Hungarian trip, good luck for shortly thereafter. . .

I've been talking to my former Japanese neighbors (when I was kid, in Japan). Let's just say my hiragana now sucks, but, I put forward ok roman-ji.... (they don't speak much English)>

I'm considering asking for a leave of absinthe.

What a giddy, almost breathlessly sincere and personal tribute to Tsutsumi Kyohei! Arigato @Sheila B.

So would leaves of absinthe make the heart grow fronder?

I can hardly stand it, to go from Ms Toron to Tsutsumi Kyohei, so much info! My brain is exploding! Thank you Sheila B!

I spent many nights in Yokohama, whatever a prepubescent geijin does w/ his friends at night. (I was just happy the school girls petted my blonde hair, saying, "kawaii", and giggle [I was afraid to talk to girls at the time])
  5:20pm
Miss G:

NGH, thank you for sharing your reminiscences! I was in Japan briefly in 1990, a lifelong dream, and in one mountain resort in the bathing room, my platinum blonde hair and tattoo on my shoulder caused quite a stir .. .plus, my too formal Japanese language. (which they taught me at Japan Society NYC)

I'm sorry, but I have to go. Will listen to the last 40 minutes tomorrow, I promise. Have a nice week everyone and until next Wednesday?

Scrappy:

Hmm, not sure how unusual they've been, though Mrs. Scrappy usually passes on them.

It really started with Unicum Zwack (the factory was on the list for Budapest), and I've been working my way through different kinds of Slivovitz from different countries like Croatia and Serbia. Got raki last time I was out which finally broke my gag response to anise-flavoured liquor. Not sure what to get next.

Miss G: Nah, never had Swiss absinthe, but now that you mention it, I'm intrigued and will be on the lookout.

@Miss G: i was there from 1986-1989 (I was 10-13 years old, and I was alowed to go out for as long as I wanted (there was no crime), so as long as I got home before the trains stopped running. Having restrictions once I returned back to the States, having restrictions and a curfew, was a big shock).
  5:24pm
Miss G:

Scrappy, it is _exactly_ Unicum Zwack which was our special thing! That is weird! I will look for that one Swiss Bleue that I want to tell you.

Miss G, Zwack is fantastic! And legit medicinal, too. It's a go-to stomachache cure for me.

Ah, it doesn't look like we get La Clandestine here in Ontario. Well, at least I've got absinthe on my mind now. Helps me with where to put my drinking dollar.
