	4:27pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000: I remember how in, errr, 2007ish it took a bit of adjusting and getting used to Pink Floyd in mono when I first heard the Piper box set. But I wonder if i have ever really lived before hearing it....

	4:35pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000: Since I'm in movie mode again (today's flick was The Last Emperor, 35mm) i gotta ask you Daya, since you seem to be quite a Cinephile, what's your opinion on Peter Kass' 1962 film Time Of The Heathen?
	4:40pm Daya: While I know of that film, and have seen a few images from it, that is one that alas, I have not had the chance to view yet, but will move it to the top of my ‘to be viewed’ list and give you a detailed opinion of it :)

	4:42pm Daya: And The Last Emperor was a good flick, imo, but I don’t know if I’ve seen it more than twice. Visually stunning, but I felt a bit ‘non engaged’ with it.
	4:45pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000: @4:42 Daya: exactly! I blamed my poor concentration skills and insomnia for my non-engagement, but maybe there is indeed something else. Really good music, Mr. Sakamoto's work is recognizable (especially since of the motifs is very similar to another from "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence).

	4:48pm Daya: Also, the plot of “Heathen” might have been a bit mirrored in Noé’s “Irreversible” (if you’ve seen it), but a stand alone film that works for me, but is ultimately very a difficult watch.
	4:51pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000: @4:40 Daya: It's pretty weird Time Of The Heathen came here to Finland already in the 60s because of distribution company called Lii-filmi, they specialized in western&agent movies and sex films etc. cheapish stuff, but they also had some US (east coast) "indie films" (they probably weren't called like that then I presume?) as well. I guess because of this KAVi (the Finnish national audiovisual archive) has a copy. Also because of this, while you don't get many google results from the Film, many of them are in Finnish, or a Finn wrting in English. I saw it, two year ago? Not exactly a feel-good movie. A bit amateurish (for the sake of a better word), but not in a bad way at all!
	4:53pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000: Noé is to me a name you, Daya and other film buffs here at wfmu (and elsewhere) recommend - I guess it is about time I get to know the movies!
	4:53pm Daya: Cha Cha, as I recall, back before the ‘Indie’ label, those types of non mainstream films we referred to as ‘Art House’ films maybe... ;) And yes, I did seek them out quite a bit here, always loving the different perspective of those movies.

	4:55pm Daya: Cha Cha, if you venture into ‘Irreversible’ just be warned about the content, still a film that should be seen, and ‘Enter The Void’, but again, just my opinion :)

	5:00pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000: Haha! I was like, what is this Lush song - and then it is WILMA! Goes to show I have not heard this for a looooong time! Isn't it damn good, Julie? I think the foreign language does not matter due to the ethereal nature of the music. Even i don't pay much attention to their lyrics even if it is my first language...

	5:06pm Daya: Same! And back in the day (90s) lyrics being published on the internet was ‘illegal’, so I was always left to wonder just what she was actually intoning ;)
	5:07pm Julie: I liked them better when you couldn't understand the words. people who call heaven or las vegas their fave album of theirs mystify me
	5:10pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000: I am one of them. I love it. Heaven or las vegas is such a happy album (her first child was born around that time) but for me it is associated with my first breakup :(

	5:15pm Daya: Yes, ‘Heaven...’ was the one, and it was the one I used to put me to sleep on long air flights, when I traveled every week for work ;)

	5:15pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000: Cranes and Dead Can Dance are part of that same unhappy era for me, but they (or Cocteaus) are not ruined in any way for me, the bittersweet personal experiences act simply as an enhancing additive as it were.
	5:18pm Julie: my ex wouldn't let me play pink floyd for similar reasons. and then he ruined Devo for me.

	5:19pm Daya: I’m lucky that not too much music was ruined for me, but there a seveal films that are difficult for me to watch, thanks to breakups :(

I managed to drag piles and piles of Film Comment back issues (70,80s,90s &00s) from a cinema to my pad. On that note, Irreversible, erm, I found Hanke's Little Games quite something - but managed to get through it (OK, I nearly ran for toilets to throw up at one point, literally speaking). Should I expect even worse?

She saved me from missing a doctor's appointment (and a huge penalty fee): I had a dream, where a clock radio playing "Free World" woke me up. And that dream woke me up, heh heh. I was 15 minutes late but I made it and therefore owe her the missed appointment penalty fee.

Around '86 9-year old me got introduced to Jesus&Mary Chain, Killing Joke, Bowie, Kraftwerk - and this was early morning/afternoon video stream filler. Sadly they fused into Super Channel & became worse from then on.

	4:40pm Daya: While I know of that film, and have seen a few images from it, that is one that alas, I have not had the chance to view yet, but will move it to the top of my ‘to be viewed’ list and give you a detailed opinion of it :)

	4:42pm Daya: And The Last Emperor was a good flick, imo, but I don’t know if I’ve seen it more than twice. Visually stunning, but I felt a bit ‘non engaged’ with it.

Really good music, Mr. Sakamoto's work is recognizable (especially since of the motifs is very similar to another from "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence).

	4:48pm Daya: Also, the plot of “Heathen” might have been a bit mirrored in Noé’s “Irreversible” (if you’ve seen it), but a stand alone film that works for me, but is ultimately very a difficult watch.
	4:51pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000: @4:40 Daya: It's pretty weird Time Of The Heathen came here to Finland already in the 60s because of distribution company called Lii-filmi, they specialized in western&agent movies and sex films etc. cheapish stuff, but they also had some US (east coast) "indie films" (they probably weren't called like that then I presume?) as well. I guess because of this KAVi (the Finnish national audiovisual archive) has a copy. Also because of this, while you don't get many google results from the Film, many of them are in Finnish, or a Finn wrting in English. I saw it, two year ago? Not exactly a feel-good movie. A bit amateurish (for the sake of a better word), but not in a bad way at all!
