Our budget was axed, and I was laid off. To say I have a less then pleasant opion of said governor, is an understatement.

	10:23pm northguineahills: I met an experimental electronic musician on tour in NYC (actually, through wfmu), and he hooked me up on a dj tour of Mty and Pachuca, Mx City, where I was djing Baile Funk and Berlin/Detroit techno. My main consideration was going to Monterrey, to get cumbia rebajada rekkids. I met my partner there, and she made it happen.

	10:34pm northguineahills: Cumbia rebajada has the same genesis as chopped and screwed by DJ Screw (Houston). It started in Monterrey, Mx, when the drug of choice was cough syrup. One dance party, the generator started to die, and the cumbia got slower and slower by the dj, as the turntable got slower. Everone loved it, and then djs started to slow down cumbia records, and record them. Then bands started to slow-mo cumbia on purpose, and the rest is history....

Everone loved it, and then djs started to slow down cumbia records, and record them. Then bands started to slow-mo cumbia on purpose, and the rest is history....
