Hi, Martinibomb! Just before this show began, I jokingly replied the following to my wife when she referred to the place she works, the Feral Cat Initiative, as "the FCI": "In color! A Quinn Martin Production!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07pm
mariano:

Barnaby Jones! Loved that show when I was a kid. In only ever saw them dubbed in Spanish till I was 9 or so, was really surprised when I heard Buddy Ebsen's real voice lol.

Hi Martinibomb, Crew, and folks!

the name of the song is "gimme a big hug" :-)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09pm
ultradamno:

The one I keep catching on Me TV lately is Highway Patrol.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10pm
Gaylord Fields:

@mariano: Which English-language actor would you describe the Spanish-language VO actor as sounding like? Did it sound even remotely like Buddy Ebsen!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm
mariano:

Gaylord: There's an old, long-standing joke about how in Latin-American dubbing, the same voice actor voiced every leading man for decades. If you can imagine a very sonorous, ritzy telenovela accent, that's about it. And every leading man character had it.

melinda:

Hi gang
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm
Gaylord Fields:

@ultradamno: You and me both! MeTV is currently deep into the final (post–Broderick Crawford DWI) season, where he's seeking on-set support by strategically placed filing cabinets and with William Boyett doing all the driving.
  7:13pm
Martinibomb:

I am a new comer to Barnaby Jones/Cannon - I've only in the last few years been able to watch them and I love the music especially all the background stuff..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14pm
solo mon:

That echoey flute sound
  7:14pm
Martinibomb:

I love the harpsichord stuff they use in Barnaby

Good Evening, Martinibomb! Skeletons! Everyone!
what a cool surprise! (gotta watch the film "Medium Cool" one of these days, was fascinated by the story/movie posters when i was a little kid)
LOVING this Quinn Martin Production! growing up in the 70s, i probably saw ALL of those shows -- Cannon, Streets of San Francisco, etc. -- my Mom liked Barnaby Jones (or, as the MAD magazine parody called it -- "Barnacle Groans")
  7:17pm
Martinibomb:

Hello @slugluv1313! Thanks for joining us!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17pm
mariano:

Yes, "Barnacle Groans," hah! I remember that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17pm
solo mon:

Streets of Sf was my favorite! The episode where John Davidson is the murderous carol channing impersonator is LEGEND
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm
Gaylord Fields:

@mariano: I've heard enough Spanish-language dubs (for Spain and for Latin America) to know exactly the voice you mean. And that ain't Buddy Ebsen, the definition of folksy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

@slugluv - Yes, I remember MAD's spoof Cannonball.
  7:19pm
Martinibomb:

^ I should have grabbed some Cannonball for the playlist.. hmm still time

I really can't think of The Fugitive without thinking of Chris Elliott as The Fugitive Guy on Letterman www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm
melinda:

@ultradamno I loved The Fugitive Guy, that was my intro to Chris Elliott
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm
mariano:

Gaylord: yeah, not even close, lol.

ultradamno: I used to wait so patiently for the next Fugitive Guy segment, back when you had to take what the TV gave you when it gave it to you. Love Chris Elliott. Remember when they did Mummenschanz?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm
ultradamno:

Yep www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm
melinda:

@solo mon streets of SF was before my time but that sounds awesome, same John Davidson as the host of That's Incredible!?
Avatar 7:28pm
slugluv1313:

@ solo mon -- omg YES!
one of my favorite episodes is when Maureen McCormick portrayed a "call girl" -- at the end, she is walking in a parking lot, i think towards her car? but in the direction she is walking, there is a traffic sign that reads, "WRONG WAY" -- CLASSIC 1970s cheesy overkill!
even then, i was thinking that she must have been trying to get away from being typecast as Marcia Brady -- as Eve Plumb may have been doing, portraying a teenage prostitute in "Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Runaway"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm
ultradamno:

He was great on Schitt's Creek too. Nice seeing that show get some recognition recently.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33pm

@melinda - Yes THAT John Davidson lol ... @slugluv- Bradys doin drama is my favorite. Not as lurid as a call girl but, Mr brady was on murder she wrote the other night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm
