Volcano The Bear | Vienna | Your Song My Foot: Daniel Blumin's 2011 WFMU Fundraising Premium | 2011 | AKA Aaron Moore & Daniel Padden / "Vienna" was the title track of Ultravox' 4th album released in 1981. However, the song was released as a single in 1980. The lyrics, which are about a brief love affair in the city of Vienna, were quickly written by Midge Ure. According to fellow band member Billy Currie, Ure was hesitant about the overly classical romantic feel of the orchestration, and said: "This means nothing to me," to which the producer Conny Plank replied: "Well, sing that then." Ure said that he had in his mind only the line "The feeling is gone, this means nothing to me – oh Vienna!" when he went into studio. | 1:32:17 (Pop-up)
Fossil Aerosol Mining Project | Notti Reliqueery | Nigths And Profecy (split w/ 400 Lonely Nights) | Helen Scarsdale Agency | 2020 | The Fossil Aerosol Mining Project began in the mid 1980s as a loose-knit group of artists and collectors interested in exploring and gathering the damaged remains of late 20th century popular culture. The project began harvesting audio recordings in 1983. The 1st studio experimentation began in 1986, soon followed by compositions that employed using literal “found sounds” such as fragments of open reel 1/4” tape and 35mm film recovered from burnt out warehouses & abandoned drive-in theaters. The earliest work involved physical tape loops and analog signal processes, which were gradually replaced by digital delay treatments and multi-track manipulation. 2 limited edition cassettes were released in 1986 & 1989, before the project was abandoned. In 2004 the Fossil Aerosol Mining Project was resurrected, and both old and new albums are now available through various labels. Fossil Aerosol still works primarily with found materials - audio artifacts and field recordings. Signal processing equipment (as well as the mixing board itself) remains the principal form of instrumentation. (-from the Project's website) | * | 1:39:14 (Pop-up)

SHAGALOV:
But good morning everyone
kpx:
the screen door spring creaked as I stepped outside into the advancing twilight. it seemed a little more unusually calm and quiet as I leisurely ambled about my backyard. pausing I could hear the changing sounds of chirping crickets. just then a gust of cool air kicked up, that swept some brown leaves over the grass that tumbled by me. for the first time all summer i felt a chill of chang that ran up my back. and although the trees were still very much green, i carefully looked around to see some first turning leaves. it was in that moment it came the first signs of Autumn that left me feeling melancholy with a certainty of inner peace. Kpx
I've been working on that since 6:30 and just finished it in time to get it in under The wire.
