David Nance tends bar about a block from my dad's grammar school. I caught him live in Omaha last year in a tiny dive. He was great.

Interesting take on Tim Buckley. Makes a decent country-rock song. Makes a better, more haunting, Tim Buckley song, though.

To be young again dept: A friend won tickets to see Widespread Panic at The Roxy in Hollywood. We were working on stage a mile or so away. After a Fifteen hour day we went to the show, smoked a ton of weed, went home, and were back on set at 7:00 am. I would die if I tried that today.

Gerry Goffin and Carole King. Thanks for playing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05pm

I’ll never forget Sonic Youth playing for free under the St.Louis arch. It was in the 70’s in late July and Thurston asked “is the weather always this good here?“ No! But the crowd cheered yes and it was a good night! They even played songs from Evol and Bad Moon Rising. I asked fellow peeps if they liked Jerry Garcia and the response was positive. I read Lee Ranaldo was a Grateful Dead fan! Tangent...

Hola Jeff and fellow Conklinites

To hear “Space Wrangler” on the way back from a day ‘down the shore’ and to hit a DUI stop that I had to go thru TWICE in order to get to my friends apt... it was a highlight of summer 2020. Thanks Todd Nance
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18pm

Rory - that is so cool! For a second I thought you meant the 70s as in the decade, I was like "Songs from BMR and Evol in the 70s?" :p

Avatar 11:56pm
slugluv1313:

age is so weird -- true, when i hit 30, it was sorta . . . traumatic?
(and even waaay back in high school, we would joke about how one would be "halfway over the hill" when s/he turned 15 -- but, that was in the 70s, remnants of the 60s' "Generation Gap," "Don't Trust Anyone Over 30" attitudes still kinda hung around)
now that i am looking at 62 in January, i am like -- WTF??? (especially considering all the crap i did to my much younger self) how did THAT happen??!!
Avatar 11:57pm

ahhhhh Jack Rose :)
thanks so much, Jeff and Skeletons, for another beautiful blissful show
