BTW that deeply disturbing Crystals tune “He Hit me (and it felt like a kiss) was apparently written by Goffin and King after discovering that Lil Eva Boyd was being “regularly beaten by her boyfriend.When they inquired why she tolerated such treatment, Eva replied without batting an eyelid that her boyfriend's actions were motivated by his love for her.” !

I have a file somewhere with a bunch of info on Janie Grant. She was a local student who only recorded for a few years, I think only her high school years. Several 45's and Triangle was her "hit" locally and I think in Philly.
