OK, let’s keep this a secret. I’m on a Zoom meeting currently muted with “Three Chord Monte” cranking on the stereo. When I ‘ve gotta jump in the meeting, I hit “mute” on the stereo remote, and jump into the Zoom convo. There’s no doubt I’ll be screwing this up before the end of this meeting! “Excuse me, Mike, did ‘Three Chord Monte’ just join the meeting?”

it took Billy Paul covering let 'em in for me to understand that song
  12:31pm Jett:

Billy Paul, had a lot of great records, One of my favorites is "When Love Is New" A few years later Arthur Prysock did a disco version of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm mariano:

Mike Sin: Can't others see when you've muted your mic? I'm not 100% sure, but I thought that's how it worked.

Yeah Chicks. Bring dynamite.
Avatar 12:53pm northguineahills:

I actually thought it was T Rex before actually listening listening....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm courtneynoir:

I think my not ever being able to get into the song Tobacco Road, no matter who does it, stems from first hearing it on David Lee Roth's 'Eat Em And Smile' record when I was like 8 (or whenever it came out)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm listener 126464:

10% people w/masks on AP boardwalk.

I was thinking of driving up to Brooklyn to visit my wife, but everything that make NYC enjoyable, is shuttered right now, but I may not have a window to when I'm not employed (new job starts in two weeks) where I can do so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Howdy Belock-Land , where the water's warm, the restaurant's distanced, and the people masked(when needed). I for one, can't take NorthEast water till July.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm Rich in Bay Ridge:

Kevin - I was just going to dive in from the 69th Street pier for a quickdip. The water's fine.
Avatar 1:03pm northguineahills:

Outside of Orlando and Gainesville, most people here in FL aren't masking from my experience.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm Mike Sin:

Yes! Gotta agree regarding the shore. The beach itself is cool -- most groups are distanced and you can "control" a bit more. The boardwalk and getting around town... a bit much. I know folks are weary and frustrated, but just because we are outside, there still should be a certain amount of "distance respect" for your fellow ho-dad. NY and NJ's low numbers look impressive, but that should have been the nationwide stat. The large variation among the states could have easily been avoided if we had a shred of leadership, strategy, and mission from the federal level.
Avatar 1:03pm northguineahills:

ahh, I hear the ladybug transistor connection
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm Rory:

ngh - Same here, it’s like what happened? Stay safe everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm Rich in Bay Ridge:

One of the things keeping people from going into the water at the beach is the turning off of the showers. Who wants to go home all sandy?
  1:06pm ami ad:

Hello D.J. Hello all. Rock the boat.
Avatar 1:06pm Joe B:

@rich - i don't mind - it's like a free souvenir of my fun trip to the beach
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm Rich in Bay Ridge:

@joe - I enjoy souvenirs but not necessarily where I find them after beachin'

Hi Joe, thanks for the Brother JT!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:30pm Joe McG:

@Andrew: Never did...and couldn't! The only cassingle I ever owned was the Rolling Stones' "Mixed Emotions." After that, I never bought another one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm Andrew_in_WI:

Haha. It is easily the stupidest format.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm Handy Haversack:

WFMU doesn't have a cassingles new bin?
  2:37pm egould310:

It’s like Gun Club, but the singer is actually in tune.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm Alvy Singer:

The stupidest format was the mini CD, or the CD 3 as it was sometimes called.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm coelacanth∅:

it just seems so wasteful, cassingles. a lot more goes into making a cassette than a record. then the space it takes -for 2 songs or maybe even just one. a 45 takes less space.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm coelacanth∅:

(but then i get annoyed when a cd only has 20 minutes on it -because of the wastefulness)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm Chop Scott:

Killer show Joe! Cheers!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Rich in Bay Ridge:

And you were only going to copy that cassingle onto a compilation cassette of all your other cassingles, because that 1983 Ford Escort didn't have a lot of room for all those cassettes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm coelacanth∅:

Alvy i've yet to see a player that can play those!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm efd:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm coelacanth∅:

Rich yes i just tacked the few i had/have (Liz Phair, mistake i thought was the album; Dollar Brand, 25¢ ...)at the end of short albums that i'd dubbed to cassette; those cassingles never to be played again.
