The Rolling Stones | Moonlight Mile | Sticky Fingers | Rolling Stones Records | 1971 | "Sticky Fingers" is the Rolling Stones' 9th British & 11th American studio album. It was the band's 1st release on the band's new label, Rolling Stones Records. The original cover artwork, conceived by Andy Warhol and photographed and designed by members of his art collective, The Factory, was highly innovative, showing a picture of a man in jeans complete with a fully working zipper that opened to reveal a pair of underwear. Owing to the damage caused by the zipper to the vinyl disc, and the expense in producing the unusual cover, later re-issues featured just the outer photograph of the jeans. / "Moonlight Mile" was the last song recorded for Sticky Fingers. Recording took place during the end of October 1970 at Stargroves. The song was the product of an all-night session between Jagger and guitarist Mick Taylor. Taylor had taken a short guitar piece recorded by Richards (entitled "Japanese Thing") and reworked it for the session. Jagger performs the song's prominent acoustic guitar riff. Jagger felt it easier to extemporize with Taylor, as Richards was not present. It was Taylor's idea to add a string arrangement by Paul Buckmaster to the song. Jim Price—the Rolling Stones' usual trumpeter—plays piano. / Players on track: Mick Jagger (vocals, acoustic guitar), Mick Taylor (lead guitar), Bill Wyman (bass guitar), Charlie Watts (drums), Jim Price (piano), Paul Buckmaster (string arrangement) | 0:00:00 (Pop-up) | ||||

His career took him to London, then to Waltham Abbey in the autumn of 1538, a large Augustinian monastery in Essex which was dissolved in 1540. Tallis's next post was at Canterbury Cathedral. FDR | Government By Organized Money Is Just As Dangerous As Government By Organized Mob | 1936 Campaign Speech For 2nd Term Candidacy (At Madison Square Garden in NY) | 1936 | FDR: "For nearly four years you have had an Administration which instead of twirling its thumbs has rolled up its sleeves. We will keep our sleeves rolled up. We had to struggle with the old enemies of peace—business and financial monopoly, speculation, reckless banking, class antagonism, sectionalism, war profiteering. They had begun to consider the Government of the United States as a mere appendage to their own affairs. We know now that Government by organized money is just as dangerous as Government by organized mob. Never before in all our history have these forces been so united against one candidate as they stand today. They are unanimous in their hate for me—and I welcome their hatred. I should like to have it said of my first Administration that in it the forces of selfishness and of lust for power met their match. I should like to have it said of my second Administration that in it, these forces met their master." | 2:57:05 (Pop-up) |
