	1:56am slugluv1313: same here, Fox -- LAST place i want to use my food stamps is at Amazon, etc. i worked at a welfare agency from 2005 to 2010 -- many applicants had had decent jobs, never thought they would have to apply for any sort of public assistance -- thankfully not elitist about it or anything, but totally lost, clueless . . . so constantly hearing unemployment numbers going up higher and higher, i can only imagine what this is all going to look like in a couple of years

Looters are not protestors and the protests ended hours ago. Pretty confident that whoever is out there right now in SoHo had nothing to do with the protests that happened across the city today.

Maybe it's the people who don't give a fuck about peaceful protests and they are angry and they are fed up and this is how that manifests. It’s become a major problem at all the protests that white kids are riding in and causing property damage in the name of black people making peaceful protestors (mostly black) and their communities bigger targets. . If you care about what happened to George Floyd you should be concerned about white kids slumming in violence for their own kicks. . The job of white people at protests is to hold space and support non-whites because white people have entitlement and privilege to buffer it.

Some think that blaming the violence and looting on instigators takes the teeth and righteous anger out of the protest itself, and helps perpetuate the status quo. Others think that the violence is ruining the movement for change. Sure, cops are definitely trying to get things ugly and turn things into a riot so they can crush it, and leftist angry white people need to step back and realize they have NOTHING compared to the issues black america has with the police. But at the same time.... shrug how long can nothing change in the face of murder? How long can we know that white supremacists are targeting the police for their ideology and do nothing about it? I can't judge the destruction.

	2:32am JakeGould: If you have not been at any of these recent protests you honestly have utterly no right to judge the reactions of people who have been there. I only went to one today. . I know others who have been at protests in the past few days and the pattern is clear: The protestors who are peaceful are truly not connected to the rioters and looters. . And many people out there have problems differentiating they two will just blame the peaceful protestors for actions they do not condone, do not support and will put them in danger. The black community will suffer because white kids want to cosplay and live action role play what pain and outrage mean. . Anyway good night people.

	2:41am slugluv1313: re: instigators, fake protestors, etc. -- i have heard all sorts of stories, how the KKK, alt-right groups, etc., are sending in "their" people to protests so they can start shit -- so a peaceful protest gets violent, and makes the protestors look bad to all those suburbanites "tsk tsk"-ing in front of their TVs . . . and then of course random jerks who want to "start a riot" not because they support a cause, but because they think it is "fun" and maybe they will get on TV then you gotta wonder about law enforcement deliberately planting undercover people . . . this was a huge caution years ago, when we (animal rights activists) were considered the number one terrorist threat in the country -- and it continues now; a friend in Oakland posted a statement that if one is going to any of the protests, be sure that you are with friends or groups who you know and trust

I honestly don’t care one bit about luxury stores being looted. Property is not important than life. But I do care about peaceful protestors potentially being harmed by the implied actions of others supposedly “acting on their behalf.”

My friends were at the protests yesterday and today. One was specifically at the NYPD SUV rundown on Flatbush and Saint Marks. Another saw NYPD instigation. And my own ideas about agitators are not wildly generic; it is simply based on what I — and others at these protest — have seen. . All I said to begin with is simply looting is happening in SoHo and Washington, D.C. That’s it. . Holding space is of value. Sorry for the multiple “Byes!” but seriously.

And many people out there have problems differentiating they two will just blame the peaceful protestors for actions they do not condone, do not support and will put them in danger.
