NYC composer COLLETTI (aka Ian M. Colletti) discusses his score for director Rachel Mason's 2020 Netflix documentary "Circus of Books" and performs an on-air "live score" using analog synths, sequencers and acoustic instruments. Ian has performed in Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall orchestras as well as in his bands Angriest Pussycat, Auto-Matic Vaudeville and Lost Animals, and has backed Jandek. Mota - my weed shop- used to be Circus of Books I’d get my smokes mags/ they provided a needed service- once i was there, 8:30 am and the guy in front of me was an older guy, maybe 60, looked like a plumber electrician. little Asian guy, but he was getting some raw dog DVD or something. He acted scared, like he didn’t want to be noticed, I found it sad but also empowering that at least this guy had a place he could go to service his desires- it was a freak show but alas as with the rest of LA, impermanence is the rule.
