That's kind of weird but I guess they are being super careful. That would be weird to me. But they may find some of their customers mental health really relies on their music habit. When I worked in a record store we certainly had a lot of customers who needed their music fix just to function.

Record stores here are open, but you call and discuss your order with the staff, they pull it - you pay for it over the phone and then they pop it in your trunk.

Well, if all the businesses go out of business because they can't pay rent - there will be nothing left and a long time before the landlord gets squat for a long time - it makes sense to work with the tenant!

Records stores are going to have tough decisions to make before the advent of a vaccine. The amount of cleaning and sanitizing would have to be measured against "risk/reward". Each customer would have to spend at least $100 to make it worthwhile depending on how much space they have. Folks taking an hour to buy 10 $2 45s won't cut it.
