Last week they spent two hours examining a natural crack in a natural cavern and then breezed right past a room whose walls were all skulls, one of which was babbling out warnings of a great hunger in the dark. Then the rest of the time was spent trying to wake no more than one mummy at a time. They got some loyal hornets out of the deal! Tomorrow they are hoping to find Shadorigol the Dream Bringer or at least fuck up some of her moths.

He told me he was a COBOL programmer and was bragging that they needed him more that he needed them… But he could only program in COBOL… In 2010-ish. Glad I saved him $$$ on shipping!

In Judaism — I’m not a scholar like Andy Breckman but know the basic concepts — nobody kneels, you are supposed to pray with your head covered and rocking back and forth. And the most important book is the Talmud which is basically just documentation of a bunch of Rabbis endlessly engaged in directing what the Torah means. Meaning you are raised to open your mouth and question things all the time.

	1:22am mariano: I haven't been religious since I was around 8, but a good high-church mass in a cathedral can be quite an impressive production, with the Renaissance choral music and the pageantry and incense and such. Smells and bells as some call it.

	1:25am mariano: Anglican services too. Was traveling to England a lot between March of '18 and October of last year, staying around Chichester, which has a big medieval cathedral. Really enjoyed going to their choral evensong, 30-45 minutes of really amazing choral music.

Of course in the modern world — where Judaism in the U.S. is kinda structure like a Protestant sect — that is not always the case. But you can definitely speak back to the Rabbi if you can make a decent case. If you are just speaking back to speak back, you are just a pain in the arse. Being contrarian I the core thing Jews are because of that. Now don’t get restarted on the Orthodox loons.

Then the rest of the time was spent trying to wake no more than one mummy at a time. They got some loyal hornets out of the deal! In Judaism — I’m not a scholar like Andy Breckman but know the basic concepts — nobody kneels, you are supposed to pray with your head covered and rocking back and forth. And the most important book is the Talmud which is basically just documentation of a bunch of Rabbis endlessly engaged in directing what the Torah means. Meaning you are raised to open your mouth and question things all the time.

	1:25am mariano: Anglican services too. Was traveling to England a lot between March of '18 and October of last year, staying around Chichester, which has a big medieval cathedral. Really enjoyed going to their choral evensong, 30-45 minutes of really amazing choral music.

But you can definitely speak back to the Rabbi if you can make a decent case. If you are just speaking back to speak back, you are just a pain in the arse.
