Just getting a cup of tea :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:03pm

I've been on an SCTV kick again lately.
Avatar 6:04pm
Linda Lee:

i adored SCTV. just a delight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:04pm
Rich in Washington:

GG, I just made a fresh cup of Earl Grey and now I'm enjoying it. 'CLINK'.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:04pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Rich - clink, fellow tea drinker :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05pm
Rich in Washington:

It really was. I especially love Katherine O'Hara and Andrea Martin. So amazingly talented.
Avatar 6:05pm
Linda Lee:

*clink* virtual tea, warm & tasty.
Avatar 6:06pm
Linda Lee:

yes. they were! :-) they were both brilliant. really amazing performers.

Good Hello to all. Please mind the bread crumbs while typing in this chat....

Armageddon outta here!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm
Rich in Washington:

What kicked this latest bout off was seeing an old Canadian film that they had lampooned as Gord, Fiona, Ted, and Alice, called Goin' On Down The Road. Just so peculiar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

My love for Lola Heatherton is strong :-)
Avatar 6:07pm
Linda Lee:

haven't heard of it! worth seeking out?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm
Rich in Washington:

but also discovering those really, really late HBO seasons which I had never seen before. So weird.
Avatar 6:07pm
Don-O:

This is a request. Name Withheld. I wonder what?
Avatar 6:08pm
Linda Lee:

i was just thinking of her. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm
Rich in Washington:

Love Lola! Watched that entire episode that's centered around the rise and fall of Lola. So good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm
Aitch:

Good morning, Jungler Roomers.
Avatar 6:08pm
Linda Lee:

what late HBO sessions do you mean?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm
Rich in Washington:

The Canadian flick in question is kind of bad in a good way. One of those slice of life 70s realism films about a couple of Nova Scotia morons who try to strike it out in Toronto.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm
Rich in Washington:

SCTV had one season on HBO with just the core of the cast. It was really weird.
Avatar 6:10pm
Linda Lee:

that sounds nice.
then again, 70s realism? i have no standards.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10pm
Rich in Washington:

This is fantastic, Don-O! I've never heard this before.
  6:10pm
Martinibomb:

what up Don-o
Avatar 6:11pm
Linda Lee:

oh reallly? i think i'd tuned out by then. probably nightclubbing instead.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12pm
Rich in Washington:

Me too, LL! But was vaguely aware they were still out there doing it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Right. I have tea. I have food. Order is restored :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13pm

yay, tea, food and order!

Hiya, Martinbomb!

i was just in the main room of the cabin. honestly, here in the mountains you'd never know anything was any different from a year ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13pm

Hello everyone :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14pm

Evolution Control Committee are freaking geniuses!
Avatar 6:14pm
Linda Lee:

this is fairly amazing.
Avatar 6:14pm
Don-O:

Hey, MBomb. Eating lunch, typing and keeping an eye on the stream!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14pm
Rich in Washington:

LL, we're also rather secluded out in the country, so it's sort of nice to not see the immediate effects of the shutdown. It's rather serene.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm
Rich in Washington:

oh man. That tagline!
Avatar 6:15pm
Linda Lee:

isn't it odd. just 90 miles from where i sit, ...
Avatar 6:16pm
Linda Lee:

the world is turned inside out, horribly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'm looking at the Abbey Road webcam right now and *there is no one there*. I've never seen it like that. Ever.
Avatar 6:17pm
Linda Lee:

webcams! thanks for the reminder !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm
Rich in Washington:

It really is. The gravity of it is hitting us hard. My poor missus woke up super early with worry on her mind.
Avatar 6:18pm
Don-O:

Las Vegas and New Orleans look pretty empty!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm
Rich in Washington:

I love Coyle and Sharpe so much.
Avatar 6:19pm
Linda Lee:

gosh, i'm sorry Rich. i understand.
this is the way i wake every day .. to a very strange dream..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

In a brighter piece of news tho - the World Environmental Agency says that the ozone hole is the smallest it's been in decades and all the holes are actually healing.
Avatar 6:19pm
Linda Lee:

a really very strange dream.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20pm
Rich in Washington:

I love how Jim Coyle was just such a benign con-man. He supposedly could talk his way into any job. After leaving the comedy team, he sort of went into the academic world and no one who knew him then would even guess that he had such a comic, prankster bent at one time.
Avatar 6:20pm
Linda Lee:

i caught that!!
i've always said, all it takes for the natural world to repair is for us to step back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

We've had a pollution haze over Brighton for the last two years and it's disappeared. Lovely clear skies.
Avatar 6:21pm
Linda Lee:

we needn't do anything proactively. just withdraw.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm
Rich in Washington:

all my dreams now have some element of the virus reality we're in. I've had dreams somewhat like Cronenberg's Shivers, elements of The Walking Dead, etc.
Avatar 6:21pm
Linda Lee:

this is what i'm hearing as well, from different places in the country. 'this is the way it used to be'.
Avatar 6:22pm
Linda Lee:

oh no. that sounds horrid.
i'm actually traveling back to old dream scenarios.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22pm
Rich in Washington:

It's like that famous R. Crumb illustration The History of the US (or whatever) in reverse.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22pm

28 Days Later vibe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:23pm
Rich in Washington:

For sure, Aitch. How you doin'?
Avatar 6:23pm
Linda Lee:

that's an amazing piece..
Avatar 6:24pm
Linda Lee:

i wish our future were that predictable.
Avatar 6:24pm
Linda Lee:

future.. was..
Avatar 6:24pm
Mr Fab:

So hilarious. Real happy that Li'l Fab didn't have "school" today so i could hang in the Room today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:25pm
Rich in Washington:

years ago I read a great book about the Black Plagues of Europe and how they cause social upheavals that eventually upended the Feudal system and moved the continent to more democratic systems.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26pm
Rich in Washington:

That's cool, Mr. Fab! How's home schooling going?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26pm
Aitch:

Very quiet in Sydney, kinda spooky. Beautiful sunny morning though.
Avatar 6:26pm

Workin' from the homestead, Fab?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26pm

My sweetie just discovered that she's had to undergo lots of state training, since she's off but being paid.
Avatar 6:26pm

we're glad too, mr f
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27pm

This is one of my favorite C&S routines.
Avatar 6:27pm
Linda Lee:

she wasn't aware, Rich? what does this mean?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Oof. I'm gonna have to bail today, people. Sciatica just kicked in so need to take a painkiller :-(
Will catch the rest of the day in the archive tho :-)
Elbow bumps, everyone - stay safe! :-) <3
Avatar 6:29pm
Linda Lee:

oh no. sciatica.
see you soon, GG!
Avatar 6:29pm
Don-O:

G'day and g'luck, DJ GG!!
Avatar 6:29pm
Linda Lee:

good to get up & move around.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm

Leave the bats for Ozzie, he appears immune.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm
Rich in Washington:

Oh, just that she hadn't checked her work emails for a couple of days and then realized that they were all supposed to do a series of group trainings, so she had some catching up to do. She's a state employee under a contract, so has to sort of work from home during the shutdown.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm
Rich in Washington:

THIS is my favorite C&S bit. That poor druggist.
Avatar 6:32pm
Don-O:

Geez, if they did this today, they would be mistaken for members of Jackass and get arrested....or beaten up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm
Rich in Washington:

Sharpe's daughter Jennifer has written about this bit. Mal actually really felt bad about how concerned and agitated the druggist became. I don't think this was ever released until the CD age.
Avatar 6:33pm
Don-O:

"I haven't had a heart attack since I was a child."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33pm
Rich in Washington:

yeah, Don-O. Pioneers in another age, when two guys in suits with a tape recorder just engendered some kind of earnest trust in the man on the street.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm
Rich in Washington:

"..pretty well, for a day or two.."
Avatar 6:34pm
Don-O:

....in suits? They would be mistaken for ICE and then get beaten up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm

nary a glitch in sight. Sounds great, Don-O!

It was early in my show, but JUST in case I forget......
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41pm

This is almost veering into Kipper Kids territory!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43pm
melinda:

Hi everyone
Avatar 6:43pm
Don-O:

...those chins.....THOSE CHINS!!!!
Avatar 6:44pm
Mr Fab:

Thanks to the home schooling, i now known the difference between obtuse and acute angles. Utterly useless info. Tho i could probly get a naughty joke out of the phrase "acute angles."
Avatar 6:45pm
Don-O:

....sounds like a useful bar trick as well!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46pm
Rich in Washington:

Hi melinda!
Avatar 6:47pm
Don-O:

"....win an argument with the ocean." The sounds like something straight from a Firesign Theatre skit.
Avatar 6:47pm
Don-O:

Good Hello. Melinda.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:48pm
Rich in Washington:

The Kipper Kid's chins contained both acute and obtuse angles. I might have to play some on tonight's show, just for you, Don-O!
Avatar 6:49pm
Don-O:

Oh, yea. The Kippers did a track for the last Dr. D comp.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50pm
Rich in Washington:

Yeah. Their last recording together.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51pm
Rich in Washington:

Love The Chopping Channel!
Avatar 6:52pm
Don-O:

I know they got a couple unedited 'Chopping Channels on Internet Archive. I haven't been brave enough to listen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm
Rich in Washington:

Yeah. They're pretty chaotic. I sure do enjoy the 24/7 Over The Edge stream. I listen to it often.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm
Rich in Washington:

Oh man. I don't think I've ever heard this Seeland release!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm
Rich in Washington:

That's brilliant!
