	9:34pm JakeGould: @MarcelM: Waaaaay quieter. Only stores open are corner groceries and pizzerias. None of the Chinese food places — mainly those hole in the way take out places — are open at all. And many places are closing early. The best way to explain it is I only saw one store per block open at 8:00pm-ish. And when I saw per block, I am talking about major avenues and even stores across the street were closed. In an hour or so I expect the streets to be 100% dead.

	9:35pm jj.: wow, i'm amazed somebody actually remembers the story. yeah, my haircut (or lack thereof), a threatening note with a misspelling, & a theme song i couldn't possibly not use.
	9:35pm JakeGould: PS: I mention the Chinese food places because there’s fear in the Asian community of racist backlash. There are literally 4 laundries near me. All closed over the weekend. Ditto with most of the 99 cent shops. Closed. The few laundries that are open have consistent rules: We are open. Do your laundry. Do not hang out inside the store. No folding of clothes in the store.

	9:38pm JakeGould: What is sad as well is many of the bars that could stay open to serve booze to go seem to be already throwing in the towel. I mean business volume is down in general.

	9:50pm JakeGould: @jj: Exactly. Also, I utterly do not recommend riding MTA buses at all during this. They are essentially free now because you must board from the back. And those folding seats up front where the wheelchair folks go? All folded up with a strap blocking off the area. The problem is there is really no way to keep 6 feet spacing. So everyone is on top of each other. Problem waiting to happen. The select buses that are extra long though? No problem.

Babies’ lives consist of it. Their time is infinite. Children need many hours to rest growing bodies and minds. They have a different and separate life to live. Maybe adolescents and adults do it to escape the hassles of daily life. They have lived long enough to expect struggle and uncertainty. The elderly sleep less than everyone else. The clock ticks away what remains of their lives. Dreamland dwindles as their time on earth fades. Tired eyes and tired hearts are what are left.

	9:34pm JakeGould: @MarcelM: Waaaaay quieter. Only stores open are corner groceries and pizzerias. None of the Chinese food places — mainly those hole in the way take out places — are open at all. And many places are closing early. The best way to explain it is I only saw one store per block open at 8:00pm-ish. And when I saw per block, I am talking about major avenues and even stores across the street were closed. In an hour or so I expect the streets to be 100% dead.

	9:35pm JakeGould: PS: I mention the Chinese food places because there’s fear in the Asian community of racist backlash. There are literally 4 laundries near me. All closed over the weekend. Ditto with most of the 99 cent shops. Closed. The few laundries that are open have consistent rules: We are open. Do your laundry. Do not hang out inside the store. No folding of clothes in the store.

	9:50pm JakeGould: @jj: Exactly. Also, I utterly do not recommend riding MTA buses at all during this. They are essentially free now because you must board from the back. And those folding seats up front where the wheelchair folks go? All folded up with a strap blocking off the area. The problem is there is really no way to keep 6 feet spacing. So everyone is on top of each other. Problem waiting to happen. The select buses that are extra long though? No problem.

The clock ticks away what remains of their lives. Dreamland dwindles as their time on earth fades. Tired eyes and tired hearts are what are left.
