Happy marathonning! I mentioned this last time this was played, but having gotten into vinyl as a teen in the '90s, every single word of this song is true.
@Handy Strangers' cars-- there are a number of songs I've only ever heard when I'm too lazy to wait for the bus, which I'm fairly certain are among the most popular songs in the world.
Hello, I'm David, and I'm a hopeless FMU addict. I've been off it for almost 24 hours, and am now relapsing with bad, bad cravings. @Handy @Carmichael @Phillippe B @Mr Pumpy.
David! You were missed! There was a whole thing about fannies and gravedigger's biscuits on Mary's show! You'd have loved it. Definitely time to quit your job. You can't afford to miss this stuff.
@Handy - I tell you how bad it was: I gave serious consideration to slipping my iPod into my pocket, connecting to the guest Wi-Fi and sneaking out to the toilet. It was a joke yesterday but a cruel reality today.
@Handy - Ha, ha, that's good to know. The Crew cares. And I will have to listen to the show on catch-up. Mary has been very supportive of our recent album in terms of airplay and I am so shallow and self-centred that I directed pledge her way as a thank you.
@The Oscar - I was out with a client, locked in a room all day. I figured that they probably wouldn't take kindly to having Ken's Show on in the corner... It was very bad for my well-being though.
I have a box of American (Girl Scout cookie) Samoa(s) in my bag *right now*. So if it's all the same to the political process, I'm taking the win on this one.
There was a great book about Peter Ivers that came out a few years ago. I was amazed I'd never heard of him before-- he was pretty much the conduit between several of my favorite worlds ('70s punk, early National Lampoon, David Lynch...).
I have found a home -- it turns out that when all the DJs were saying listen online, one actually can. Radio signal here can be dodgy. And once I started listening online, suddenly all the rest just flowed out of that. Because I also really wanted to be able to thank the DJs.
Also: I'm chatty. And with no cell phone, I don't have texting or social media to use as an outlet!
@5:44 Irwin: but an important part of Can't Wait Too Long is the riff that was already put to good use during SMiLE: at least the end of Wind Chimes comes to mind - the very same musical motif there. Brian Wilson's self-recycling was rather creative.
thanks Irwin and Mark great show! loved that last Marco tune

@spodiodi, ha ha. They don’t have to be epic to be interesting. House Rule #2 here is ‘No Whole Earth peanut butter’, so I appreciate the value of the small scale boycott.
