	4:38pm Cmurtha: I do not research chairs. The name though comes from the Ottomans I believe. They sat in very low coach like thrones/chairs and had little foot stools. There is also a fun Ottoman History podcast that talks about, why we call Turkeys (the bird) Turkeys.

I got to work at Topkapi which was very nice. Their library is in a very lovely former mosque that is not open to the public.

	4:58pm northguineahills: That's why Chinese programmers have that down pat, a country that should be at least 5 time zones, is one. Since it's based on eastern China, it wakes the diurnal schedule in western China a bit unwieldy.

	4:59pm Webhamster Henry: I've done timezone work. The worst is that timezones are completely at the whim of whatever legislature is setting the dates. So, Australia moved the dates for their Olympics, for a long time part of Indiana refused to be in the same zone as the rest of the state, and so it LOOKS mathematical , but is in fact as capricious as whatever lobbyist is pushing for an extra week of barbecues.

It makes conference calls an adventure, as he sends inconsistent schedules. Being the only "mere technician" I basically have to set aside a three-hours slot and wait for his call. Bosses (everyone else) just show up when/if they want

So, Australia moved the dates for their Olympics, for a long time part of Indiana refused to be in the same zone as the rest of the state, and so it LOOKS mathematical , but is in fact as capricious as whatever lobbyist is pushing for an extra week of barbecues.
