Yes Robin, I believe Girl Friday is a current band from Los Angeles. But you should double check that yourself!

In reference to the Emo reference
The Dischord bands at the time of Egghead embrace ignition etc. were coined Emo by the old time Straight Edgers. They wanted to make sure no one mistook these records for Hardcore or straight edge. Many of the early Straight Edge bands evolved into that Emo genre. Then somehow the Emo genre became a completely different scene so the Dischord type bands dropped the Emo label. ( the reference)

Kids referred to the Smashing Pumpkins as Emo
I booked screamo and emocore bands like 10 years after. What I’ll never accept is kids that label their music as post punk or post hardcore. Either you is or you ain’t!!

my father used to drink over a pint of hard liquor in a night, several night/week for decades. he was funny and was known as a life of the parties. then when my older brother's alcohol problem became unavoidable he quit. i'd say cold turkey but i don't think he had withdrawal symptoms. (as i wouldn't either)
he'd already quit smoking a few years before that.
he gradually became a grump after all that.
ignatatus666:
I let it pass. Very rare I’ll bark back because he did not have a great upbringing. So I just let 99% go. I’ve had to prove him wrong several occasions especially when he knows he will get better directions from me then from Waze or better recipes and sources then YouTube. 2 for me 1000 for him

the way it seems to me, the term "post-punk" suggests that punk was a fashion, and that fashion has ended. total bullshit. it wasn't always called that but it's existed for at least 60 years and still does.
wire (for example) was not "post punk" it was either punk or it wasn't.
- at the time it was called punk.

not as blatantly fabricated but just as bad as fox "news" if you ask me -as far as creating a closed-minded, one-sided perspective.
